Elenwë had been in this form almost a week now, and she was still learning new things every day. Apart from the obvious physical differences (which she had quite enjoyed exploring with Turukáno's permission) there were other insidious differences as well. Such as the way she was treated as a man, compared to the way she was treated as a woman.
She had seen it quite clearly when they had met the human from their world, Imrahil, his name was. Although Turukáno had spoken to him with equal wisdom as he did when he was in a male body, he had been entirely ignored and patronized by the man, who could not seem to see past his breasts. And she, on the other hand, though her answers were far less wise, had earned the man's respect and attention. It was a strange and disturbing trend that had been echoed time and again in large ways and small.
For instance, when she walked into a room in this body, she was not automatically sized up for her sexual desirability. She was seen as a person, not an object. It was a profoundly empowering feeling, to be recognized as a being with agency and value, instead of a commodity. Of course, Turukáno had never treated her as such. She would never have married him if he had. It seemed to be a trait more defined among men than among the Eldar, and it was curious to watch it.
She entered the pub and took a seat at the bar, ordering one of the few ales they had that she could stomach. She and Turukáno had told very few about their change, considering it a sort of huge social experiment, and she was learning so very much.
In a way, she was very glad that she had been changed. The knowledge she had gained - both about Turukáno personally and about her own place in the world was unmatched. She could never have learned these things any other way. She knew now things about how to pleasure him that she had never guessed before, perhaps things that he had tried to explain to her and couldn't. She understood much about how it felt to be a man - things that words could never describe. And she had learned much of what it was to be him, living in his skin, looking at the world through his eyes.
And everything she learned had only made her love him more.
She sipped her ale when it arrived, looking around the room to see if there was anyone worth speaking to, for her mind was full of questions and ideas.
