It was good that Grey had something so important to focus on, yes she missed Malcolm, almost more than she could bear, but her own feelings didn't matter, the only thing that mattered was making this whole thing perfect for him. She didn't want him coming in before everything was set up because it would spoil the effect.
Her heart leapt when she heard the door to the club open, signalling that he was here. She turned on the music, not too loud because obviously she wanted him to be able to hear her, and she wanted to hear him as well. She almost skipped into the club properly to greet him and to see his reaction. "Do like it?" she said, barely able to contain her joy and excitement. She slipped her arms around his neck and held onto him. "This is only part of it," she admitted, gazing into his eyes, unable to keep the smile from her face. How had she ever got so lucky to have this perfect man in her life?
"Wait here," she said close to his ear, moving to kiss him as she went back to the booth and picked up the little black box sitting there, waiting.
