It had been a long and trying day. After sitting with Courfeyrac for a while, he had finally fallen asleep, and Éponine pulled a blanket over him. She'd gone out and sat with Grantaire for a bit, until she'd drifted off on the sofa, exhausted by the day's events. Her head ached and she felt sick to her stomach, and she awoke late in the evening to find herself alone in the main room, a blanket draped over her and the flat quiet. She wondered where they were- Courfeyrac's door was closed and she wasn't sure where Grantaire had ended up. Enjolras' door was cracked open and she closed her eyes with a soft sigh. She should go back to sleep, she knew, but she didn't know if she could. |
