Sidda started to move subtly, a defensive sort of stance more than an aggressive one. He stopped, keeping a distance between them that could be read either as cautious or respectful, or a little bit of both. He considered, just for a second, whether he should reach for his wand. He decided against it, not least because he had now spotted the child she was instinctively trying to protect. He wasn't about to start anything when she was with... her daughter? Especially when so far she'd given him no indication that she meant him any harm.
There was a tiny voice in the back of his mind telling him that this had to be a trap, and they'd strapped a child to her knowing that it would throw him off and make him less likely to react. No. No, don't be silly. He didn't know Sidda that well, but she didn't seem the sort to use a child as a human shield!
Then she spoke and sounded just as confused, if not more so, than he was. He felt himself relax slightly - still aware but not completely on guard either.
"Yeah, hi. It's me," he said, quite casually considering the bizarre circumstances. "Erm... sort of? I didn't bring you here, no, but I think I might've been here before." He only said 'I think', because although he had a vague, stirring memory of being in a space community before, it was a little early to say definitively that it was the same situation.
"Is this your daughter?" he asked, nodding to the child.
