Bruno / Dan - lunchtime
"I, uh... haven't really been around people in a long time," he explained, not quite telling him the full story, but not telling a lie either. "Certainly not this many people," he added, to make it sound less odd.
He smiled at the compliment, and he was about to tell him more about the sand when the topic suddenly switched direction. "A friend?" he looked confused, and then realised where Dan's attention was drawn to. "Oh, yes! I almost forget, I brought them along for the nerves."
Bruno placed down his plate, and lifted his right hand to his opposite shoulder. One after the other, the two rats took the cue to dash down his arm and nestle in the crook of his elbow. "This is Carlos, and this Ernesto. They do like pears, yes."
