Who: Everyone
What: PARTY
Where: One of the particularly fancy hotels in Wheel 1
When:Friday night, starting around dinner time
OPEN/Multiple threads/tag warnings on your threads as needed

The lobby of the hotel is mostly unchanged, other than the furniture all being pushed to the edges of the space to make an impromptu dance floor. There's a small stage set-up on one side, during the first half of the night there is just a computer there, it's set to auto-play a variety of music but there is also the option for guests to play a specific song jukebox style.

One another side of the room there are food and (non-alcoholic) drinks set up. Everything is catered from through the door and it's mostly finger foods, appetizers, and small tapas-style plates, everything kept warm on electric warmers. It's enough for a meal if someone wants to sit down or they're all easy enough to graze on through the night. The drink station here is all non-alcoholic and features waters, sodas, and a few custom punch mixes.

Separated from the main food/drink setup is a bar table. It is well stocked with basically an entire bar's worth of liquor, various mixers, fruits, and garnishes. There is a mixed punch here too, this one spiked.

About an hour after most people arrive, Richie and Eddie will start gathering up anyone close to them and directing them into a smaller meeting room off of the lobby. Once in there they'll find what is basically a small wedding setup, rows of chairs lined up with a small altar at the front. (The doors to this room won't be shut at any point, so even people who aren't close to Richie and Eddie would be able to see or sit in if they come across it) Richie and Eddie will renew their vows in a small ceremony led by Loki before leading everyone back out to rejoin the party.

Once they get back, the "DJ station" will be pushed off to one side of the stage and a karaoke machine will take front-and-center. The food tables will be condensed and one replaced by a dessert table, featuring a cake, a couple of pies, and a candy buffet.

The food tables would be taken in once most of it was gone, and Richie and Eddie would wander off sometime after midnight, but the rest would be left in place as long as people want to stay.

Bucky and Astrid

Bucky followed, weaving through the crowd carefully so he wouldn't bother anyone, making himself smaller than his already too-thin frame. He didn't like the fighting, his intention was never to be an asshole, he just had a way of walking into it. But he didn't want to ruin a party, so he was trying very hard to keep out of the way and out of situations that might lead to it.

"I won't be...taking someone else's?" he asked, knowing she had a family but not sure who was there with her or not. But still, he set the drink down. He wouldn't be able to get food with it. If he needed to he could just figure out a way to stand, or move when someone else came back.

"No. Do not be worrying, Bucky. If the chairs are all taken and someone else wishes to join us, there are other chairs. You are welcome with me and mine," she replied. And then she headed over to the food, with a small detour to the alcohol table, making sure that Bucky was with her as she went.

She took one of the bottles of wine from the table, a red that she'd been drinking earlier, and checked with her friend what he was drinking so she could get a refill for him as well. She left those back at their table, and then returned to the food to fill a plate for herself.

Hródolf appeared at that point, a grown man who still liked having his mam pick out a plate for him. Astrid busied herself with that, while Hródolf turned to Bucky. "Hey, man. How're you settling in? What'd you think of Miguel's world?"

Bucky followed diligently, asking just for a glass of whisky when she offered. He let her return them to the table and instead started a plate of food, knowing he would likely take longer. He set it on the table in front of the trays and burners, carefully tipping whatever he wanted onto it before pushing it toward the next offering. He wasn't picky, mostly just taking some of everything. He hadn't found anything he disliked enough not to eat it yet. He kept the plate sparsely filled, not wanting to overeat and end up in pain like he had most of the time in his first few days here.

Hródolf's appearance near them was a surprise and not. Bucky knew how close the family was, but it was almost jarring to hear him speak so differently from Astrid. It made sense, but it was unexpected nonetheless every time. "It is...good. Loud. And crowded. But I like the sun. And the parks, and the air." Bucky picked up his plate, "I've found a place to store my things here. I'll figure out more when I have to come back."

Hródolf nodded as Bucky spoke, and smiled when the other man was finished. "Let me know if you ever need help moving furniture and things around. I'll be glad to help. Mam says it's all I'm good for, anyway."

"I did not, and you know it!" Astrid replied, turning back to the pair of them and shoving a plate of food at her laughing son. "He is teasing me, Bucky. Hródolf is good at many things, and I tell him every day. I think if we had not been chosen by the Gods to be here, he would have been... I do not know your word for it, but he would have made skeið and snekkja. Boats. The museum mam took us to called them longships. In this place, he works on the spaceships."

Hródolf grinned. "I'll make Aunt Brenna a space longship one of these days," he declared, and then looked over at the door. "I'm going to check on Uncle Dan, mam," he said, more seriously than he'd said anything else, before looking back at Bucky. "Good to see you, Bucky," he said, before heading towards the door.

Astrid glanced round at the door as well, frowning a little, before turning back to her friend. "Have you met Dan? Currently he is much younger than he should be. Still a man, but only just. Hródolf worries about him at times. Have you enough food now?"

Bucky just watched their exchange quietly. It made him smile while a somewhat bittersweet feeling still managed to lodge itself in his chest. They were close. Laughing and smiling with each other, jokes and teasing and promises all rolled together so easily. He didn't have family like that. He wasn't entirely sure he ever really had, but he'd been close once.

"Yeah, you too." he offered as Hródolf left. Whatever he was going after must've been serious, he'd hardly ever seen the other man not cracking a joke.

"I don't think I have." He didn't quite remember his early days on the station perfectly, the sudden change in diet and oxygen sickness had put him out of sorts for a bit. But he didn't remember a Dan. "Yes, this is enough," he answered. The plate wasn't full but he reminded himself that he could come back. There would be more food. He didn't need to eat himself sick. "Thank you."
