Sarah couldn't banish the guilt that had wormed its way into the pit of her stomach. No matter how much she told herself that she had just been protecting herself, and her family. No matter how much she'd learned from Loki, she couldn't learn how to be different. How to want to do someone harm, and live with it. So, she had settled it with herself. If the other Miguel would allow her to do it, she'd try and at least assess the damage. She'd studied optometry out of necessity, and probably knew natural eye structure and its function almost as well as she did any of the other subjects she actually had certificates in. But she didn't consider herself a medical doctor. Didn't really trust herself to venture down that road. She wouldn't be able to do it and detach herself. So she'd never done it for anyone other than herself. She had gone about getting a very comfortable chair, that would put him on eye to eye level with her when he sat down. Different instruments that she'd put away when she'd had her eyes fixed in Nueva York, were laying on the table. But she had switched brighter lights with blacklight. And went with an eye safe temporary dye that would glow under the light. She had also developed at ten pairs of contact lenses like Miguel's, but different in that they functioned off of magic, rather than a ap on his phone. They would shade and clear up on their own. She hadn't wanted to take that risk with her husbands eyes. Sarah had reasoned that her husband's contacts had been very difficult to create. And this man wasn't her husband. |
