Who: Bryn and AU John
Where: Blank's "club"
What: We'll figure that out later
When: Later
Rating: TBD
Open: No, maybe if she needs rescued.
Status: On going

Bryn knew it was probably a bad idea to go off on her own. But she wanted to do her part. Bonnie was from her world. And she wouldn't know about the changes in her, the fact that she was human, that she was devoted to two men, though that was still fairly new... She would expect the pole dancing slut.

So she was at least dressed the part. A silky halter top that could just about be a bra kept her curves in place, in a flattering deep red. Dark jean shorts that could practically be panties, with an exception of the tattered bits that danced around her backside, with each twitch of her hips. And six inch platform pumps, in the same red as her top, most would break their neck in. Her lips were painted in a glossy red, false lashes mingled with her own. Pale powder hid most of her newly acquired freckles. Her hair tied up in a high ponytail with a cascade of curls, some were hers some were extensions.

She looked the part of a vampire. As she stood in the middle of the stage, holding onto the shiny chrome pole. Did she remember how to use it?

Ever since John had arrived from the other station, he had chosen to conceal himself with a glamour spell. Without it, he looked paler than usual. Thinner than usual. He had more scars than his other self, and had gone through a great deal more too. This Constantine knew loss, and he let his grief, anger and want for power fuel him every day he drew breath. There was nothing he wouldn't do to keep himself and Gen alive.

The couple had managed to stock up on the things they needed while things were calmer on the station. Now John wanted to explore. Visit the places he knew to see just how different things were. He had already checked out the leylines, and looked to see which people were still alive. Now for locations.

He lit a cigarette and inhaled deeply. That was a luxury he rarely got access to on his station and he would savour each and every one. With all the confidence in the world, John walked into the club, stopping when he saw Bryn He raised his eyebrows, plucking the cigarette from his lips.
"Is this how you handle a crisis, luv?" he asked with a smirk as he walked further into the room.

Bryn heaved a soft, but audible sigh. She wasn't going to chance breaking her neck. She had too much to live for. "No. I was hoping to draw someone out from my world. They'd know me as the sort that slept with everything that moved, that liked to use my feminine wiles, and maybe a glamor or two, to get information or things I needed or just wanted." Making herself bait.

She folded herself into a sitting position, using the pole to guide her down so that it wasn't a hard landing. "But I haven't tried to in more than a year. And while some of my skills have held up, others have not. And I don't want to break my neck, trying just to dangle a worm, for just in case."

It felt strange to see Bryn again. Especially after everything he had gone through with her. Well, not her, the other her. The one he knew from his station. The one he had to help put down... They had been intimate at one point. Before he and Gen had got together. They had a wild, flirtatious relationship before everything went south. Before everything became too much and she had to stop feeding feeding from people. He hated watching her fall apart like that and he knew what they did for her was all they could. They didn't have any other option at the time and he had to live with that regret among numerous others. It was a pain he kept hidden beneath a smug exterior.

He continued to smoke, watching her. "Fair enough" he said with a slight shrug of his shoulders. "Some old habits are harder to break" he smirked, holding up the cigarette. "And some things just take a bit of practice" he added. "So why were you trying to draw out someone from your world? Isn't everyone going into hiding? Getting together in groups for safety and all that" he added, finding himself a place to sit down. He licked his lips to give them moisture again, his posture relaxed, leaning forward.

Of course Bryn didn't know he was any different. He seemed to be her same ol' John. A man that she still held a flame for, that likely wouldn't die until she did. And it had been far too long since she'd seen his face, in more than passing. And outside his medbay room. There were just some things you missed about a person when it had been that long.

She didn't bother hiding the little grin that shaped her lips. "I'm not sure. I guess I feel a little responsible for her? If she hurts someone, I couldn't handle the guilt if I could have stopped it." And she had been gifted with a way to stop most supernatural creatures by the council that had given her that jurisdiction. "What about you? I figured you'd either be pacing the floor trying to find someway to stop Higgs, or snuggled up with Gen in your hotel room."

"Me?" he asked. "I needed a break" he replied with a shrug of his shoulders. "Gen and me, we decided to opt out of staying at the hotel. My place is further out the way. And besides, I plan on using that distance to my advantage" he added. He brought the cigarette up to his lips and took another drag. "Figured you lot would be all right down there without us. And I'm fairly certain we're not the only ones who have opted out of the hotel" he added, flicking ash on the floor.

"So who exactly were you trying to draw out anyway? I take it they're not with the hotel group then?" John asked, leaning back in the chair and getting more comfortable. Relaxing a little more.

That surprised her. Enough that her eyebrows shot up. Gen's mother was at the hotel, how was she not going batty? But then Bryn had stayed with Dan and Brenna, rather than going to the hotel herself. She was not sure how long that would last, but that was where she was for now.

"She goes by Bonnie on earth, her real name isn't exactly easy to pronounce with the human tongue. She's a starchild. I'm not an especially huge fan, last I knew she was seeing Nero." She pulled a face after she said the name, as if a bitter tasted accompanied the name. But she didn't explain. John would know how much she despised the demigod, that flouted all rules just because he could.

"So why not just send a message on the network? Why go to all this bother? Dressing up, trying to do things the way you used to do things" John asked with a shrug of his shoulders. "Or call her?" he added. "Don't see why you had to do things the hard way"

He took another drag of his cigarette before picking up an empty glass to put it out. It was tempting to just light another one. To savour that smell and that feeling all over again now that he was able to.

"Unless you fancied a bit of pole dancing. I mean, not like you to make up excuses for doing something you want to" he teased. He took out his cigarettes again and lit one, pocketing the lighter and pack afterwards.

"I am old fashioned. I prefer talking to someone face to face. Besides, lies are easier told over text or on the phone where you cannot see a person's face." If she were honest Bryn didn't know what she hoped to accomplish by seeing Bonnie. If faced with the Starchild she was unsure if she could snuff out her light unless she had no other choice. Perhaps she hoped to make her see common sense. No good could come from what Higgs had done.

But she smiled at John. He could lie to her, she knew it. But she trusted him, probably beyond reason. She rose up on her knees. "Do you remember when I did it for Arthur? I used to be good at making men, and women see nothing more than my body. The things they would talk about while I contorted myself, and writhed to the music that played." She used her grip on the chrome pole to pull herself back up to stand. "I didn't even have to remove any clothing most of the time, to find out what I wanted to know. There were no spells involved. No drugs in their drinks. That is why I made sure my thralls looked almost identical to me, or very close. Aibhlinn, the one you met, is the closest I've had in a long while."

John found lying easy no matter the situation. Whether it was to someones face or not. No matter which universe he came from he always seemed to have a knack for surviving by any means necessary.

He nodded when she spoke and listened to what she had to say. A part of him wondered if maybe bailing as soon as possible would be the safest way to ensure she didn't con on to who he really was. So far he hadn't been caught. Nor had Gen. It was only a matter of time before someone figured out who they were and where they were from. Only a matter of time before John didn't need to keep up the glamour spells and deceptions.

"Well now that I've walked in here and cocked it all up for you, how do you plan on getting her here? Or have you decided to abandon that?" he asked, bringing the cigarette up to his lips.

"Oh no, you probably saved me from giving myself a concussion. This is probably something I should do with a spotter, Jacob would probably get a kick out of something like that." And she probably shouldn't try to trap Bonnie alone.

Bryn walked to the end of the stage closest to him and hopped down. "You have a habit of saving me from myself." There was a little bit of humour in her tone. "Where as Bonnie probably would have allowed me to fall right on my head and crack it wide open." She slipped out of the neckbreaking shoes, even if she didn't have a problem with walking in them, she wouldn't want to be caught in them between the club and Dan's home with someone that was more likely to pick a fight. "How are you and Gen fairing?"

You have a habit of saving me from myself. There was something all the harsher about those words, knowing what he had to do to his Bryn. There was a part of himself buried deep down inside that would never forgive himself for what he had done. But he had become stronger and stronger for all the hard things he had to do in his lifetime. A look or regret briefly washed over his face, taken away when he brought the cigarette up to his lips.

"She's... she's nervous" he said. "Worried but that's what she does. But she's as determined as always to see this through to the end" he added. "She's always been a survivor. Never really goes away once its been learned, does it?" he added, giving her a knowing look.

Bryn grinned at him, he did have a point. "Aye, it is a skill that never goes away." She glanced back at the pole. Perhaps the reason she hadn't wanted to try her hand had been survivor's instinct. "Though I wish it would have told me not to be so hasty in becoming human. I can't help but feel as if I'm not doing as much as I could be. If Higgs can get to Bonnie, who else could he get to?" It was a rhetorical. Her mood taking a more somber note.

With a sigh she shook off the melancholy. There was nothing she could do for it now. She wouldn't go back to being a vampire, even if she could. "I noticed you two aren't staying in the hotel, do you have everything you need? Enough food? I know I shouldn't leave, but I've never been one to do as I'm told, I could bring you hot meals." Or semi hot meals. She didn't have her vampire speed anymore. And it was the least she could do for him for all he had done for her.

"My guess is everyone if he wants to" John replied. He wasn't one for cushioning his words, or trying to make them sound sweet unless he had to. "So we just keep looking for a way to fi all of this" he added. "And yeah... we're fine but cheers for the offer" he added with a smirk. "I know you're sort of a jack-of-all trades sort, master of none but didn't see you as the sort to offer cooked meals" he added.

He finished up another cigarette and put it out under his foot. As tempting as it was to light another, he resisted the urge.

"I should get going. Make sure she's all right" he said, gesturing back towards the door.

Bryn actually chuckled at his quip about her offering a cooked meal. "I would never subject you to my cooking, while not horrible, it has never been that great either. But, my daughter Astrid gets her cooking skills from her father, which is to say she is very good, and she adores Dan and Brenna's new kitchen. I was offering to bring some of her cooking to you." She had needed that, and hadn't realized it until he had made her laugh.

With the smile still on her face, she nodded to him. Scooping up her shoes. "Yes, you don't want to leave her alone too long, considering he's already attacked you once, and has gone as far to attack a child, I doubt he would balk at attacking a woman on her own. If you need anything you know how to reach me." She hummed softly. "And if you feel the need to get out on your own, the club on wheel two still has everything in it, I didn't bother taking anything out."

"Well, cheers for the offer but I think we're fine with what we have" he said with a short smile. He needed to get going before she started noticing anything different about him. He wasn't entirely used to being offered meals brought to his door. More accustomed to struggling to find anything to eat at all. It felt strange and unfamiliar in a way that made him almost uncomfortable.

He walked towards the door and stopped, smiling as he looked back at her. "Oh come on now, luv. I've met far worse than him in my time, and some of them didn't have half the power he does. The right side in all this will win out eventually. Trust me" he said with a nod, before he walked out the room.

Bryn didn't think that Higgs attack on him would phase him much, and it was kind of reassuring that he still seemed ups confident self. And she was never one to miss the chance to watch him walk away. Even if his coat hid his backside. When she could see no more of him, she took her leave as well.
