He had started with corals. Letting them spread across the surfaces, letting them grow. Coral reefs could take millennia to grow. He had seen the beginnings of some, had helped along others. Recently, he had witnessed their deaths. Humans had sworn off their commitment to protect nature. It was a cruelty he could found hard to forgive. Yet, here he was starting the cycle again. There was something ironic to it, letting nature claim back an artificial world. Mostly it was desperation and sadness. He felt better but he felt far from whole.
Kai stood at the shore, bare feet in water. He did not wear much, nothing but an Hawaiian kihei of blue color. But he could feel the water and through him it moved. Hina, the goddess of the moon, was not around to help him. This was something he needed to do on his own. He had needed a purpose, maybe he had found one.
