Zu had jumped away from the door when she heard big heavy footsteps approach. She would recognise that walk anywhere. For many nights in this place when she had been younger it had brought her comfort and soothed her nightmares. Now it rooted her to the spot. When the door opened, she still had not moved. Suzume stood there in her pink summer dress and cute black ballerinas. It was a stark contrast to the heavy golden weapon in her right hand.
They were alone for about a second and then her uncle's face appeared in the door frame next to her father. He had caught up to his older brother quickly enough.
"Ah, brother, I would like to introduce you to my fantasy and lie. This is Suzume." He smirked, looking far too pleased with himself. Zu wanted to hit him. She often did. And in her time she often gave in too... now she resisted. They did not have that sort of relationship yet.
"Uhm, hi," she said sheepishly and then held out Mjolnir to her papa. "I looked after this for you." She didn't know what else to say. Her heart had been put into overdrive at the sound of his voice and given the final jolt when he had really stood in front of her again. Zu wanted to do nothing more than hug him and yet she gave her best to resist the urge. She was not sure how much longer she would be successful.
