Loki simply quirked an eyebrow at his brother's expression of displeasure. It hurt. He had preferred it when Thor had still put his faith in him only to disappoint him once more. Things were different now. Things had changed. It had taken time to feel appreciated once more and for the younger one to realise that he was more than just someone Thor could overshadow. That was how it had felt all his life.
"It will take time, brother... Asgard and father were ignorant of many things. There are multiple universes out there, some closely related, others vastly different. In many of them we exist, in others a version of us and Asgard exists which is very different from our own and in others there is no trace of us but stories. For all I can understand some timelines run faster than others..." He was leaning forward now. His tone intend as if he was sharing a secret. "A the one who brought us here - Amelia - can take us from wherever they want. It does not seem to change our original timeline - Katherine says that people in her time believe that we are a mere mirror of ourselves. Amelia splits us in two. There is another Thor still travelling to Asgard and still witnessing its demise. Or it could be that her interference creates parallel worlds, one in which you vanished and one in which you remain. That is the pattern within our universe... if someone from outside or someone from a different time interferes, it creates another timeline. I believe there is a possibility that this has happened since the beginning of time and that all the universes we can travel have originated from one. But I cannot claim to possess such wisdom. There are many things unknown to us. Most here are not interested in such talk."
