Who: Black, Scarlet and John.
Where: Bryns bar.
What: Chatting about Wheel 5.
When: Backdated a few days.
Rating: TBD but probably swearing at the very least.
Open: No.
Status: Ongoing.

John had made arrangements to meet with both Scarlet and her husband, Blank that evening. They had agreed to meet at Bryn's bar for the time being. It was ground he knew, which in his eyes gave him something of an advantage. On top of that, he was as prepared as he could be. And John prepared was a dangerous thing. He knew he'd be walking into a chat with them outnumbered but when did that ever shy John away from anything potentially dangerous? They would have a nice chat, figure things out and then once John had learned more about them, decide if it was worth taking them both along.

The Liverpudlian mage walked into Bryn's bar, dressed the same way he always dressed. He wore a white button up shirt that he had tucked into his trousers neatly. Around his collar hung a loosely done up dark red tie that spoke to his lack of care about his appearance. His hair was combed forward but slightly messy, and his face, untouched by a razor in at least a few days. Simple black trousers with black boots near enough finished his somewhat trademark look, but the one thing that tied it all together was the trench coat. He had worn it for years and tended to wear it nearly everywhere he could. It was one of the few things that he owned that tied him to home.

Moving around the other side of the bar, he grabbed one of the bottles and a couple of glasses before setting them on the bartop. From his pocket, he pulled out a lighter and a packet of cigarettes, drawing one from the pack and lighting it before setting both objects on the table, cigarette held between two fingers.

Blank stood beside Scarlet outside of Bad Things for a moment or two. Contemplating his choices; he came here not knowing too much about this guy. Other than he looked a lot like that actor from 'Legends Of Tomorrow.'

"Scarlet." His voice was somber and seriously. "May I go and meet our acquaintance first? I'll do as I was told." In his once empty hand appeared a bottle of 1706 bourbon. He bit his lower lip softly "And I promise not to make a ruckus. I..." Blank paused for a moment and looked down at her bump. "I just want to be sure that everything is safe for us before you come in." It wasn't an order, it was a plea. Blank could feel the power of the man in the bar in his bones. It was nothing to be trifled with.

Scarlet raised a brow. She wasn't worried, she knew Bryn wouldn't let anything happen. But the little ghost smiled, it was cheeky, and she was obviously up to something. "Fine fine. Go. Or you'll be late and that would be rude." She swatted his backside with the palm of of her hand. Being over protective wasn't going to be one of her favorite things for long. But she could stand it for a little bit.

Besides, a rent-a-ghost entrance was a much better one. It had more flair. And she did enjoy a good entrance. Even if her husband was being silly.

Blank looked up from Scarlet's bump to her eyes. Yes, he knew he was being over protective, but he had good reason to be! Though he knew Bryn would never let anything happen to them in her place, he couldn't help but worry just a bit.

"Thank you. See you in a few?" He offered her a smile before he took in a deep breath and entered Bad Things' front door. No bolster, no showing off, just swiftly entering. His eyes moved around the entire floor, there was only one person there, the man he was supposed to meet.

Blank's eyes locked on to the man in the trench coat, smoking a cigarette. The man's aura was something else, and for some reason Blank relaxed and smile.

"Hey!" Blank called out to his new acquaintance, his smile widening just a bit. He lifted the bottle up as he made his way toward the bar. Without missing a beat, Blank had two glasses in his hand and set them on the bar before them. Popping the top off the bottle, Blank poured a shot in to each glass as he sat down on a stool on the other side. After he finished, he took the glass in to his right hand.

"You asked me to bring the good stuff, so I did."

John watched Blank as he walked into the room, deep brown eyes looking the man over fairly subtly. A slight smirk lifted the corner of his mouth as the other man brought out the bottle. It looked old. Either Blank was well to-do money wise, he was a thief, or he had other means of getting expensive items. Most of the time when John had been presented with expensive or old spirits, he knew it wasn't to be trusted. That a rich mans Scotch had a certain taste to it that John wasn't keen on, and that was usually rooted in who owned it.

"Fair enough" John replied with a shrug of his shoulders. "Where's your bird then? Thought she was coming here with you" he said, taking a short drag from his cigarette.

Blank glanced down at the glass still on the bar, then to the one in his hand. He downed it very easily, though he did seem a bit disappointed that his new acquaintance did not do the same.

"If you're worried that I spiked it, no. I didn't. I bought this bottle a year or so again... My time. Sixty five bucks. It showed up in my possessions when I woke up. So, it's the best I have."

"As for Scarlet.. Well, she's around. Call me paranoid or overprotective, but she is carrying our child. One can never be too safe, y'know?" Blank spoke frankly as he poured himself another shot of the bourbon.

"Couldn't give a toss, mate" he replied simply, reaching for the class. He placed his hand over the top of the glass, fingers gripping it loosely. Sure, he didn't trust the other man. He had just met him after all. And there was a a chance he might spike him. Wouldn't have been the first time it had happened to John. Frankly, he was surprised he had lasted so long without being punched. Well, there was that time with Loki...

"She's a ghost... She shouldn't be carrying your child in the first place" John replied simply. He didn't care if he caused any offence. Picking up the glass, he looked directly at Blank before taking a healthy drink. He placed the glass back down, savouring the flavour but loathing something about the aftertaste.

"So, you want to visit wheel five with me then?" he asked, cutting straight to the point. "Why?"

Blank didn't speak when his new drinking buddy spoke. He paid no mind to the tone of his voice. How could Blank not see the distrust in the Brit's face. Blank made no mind of it. They barely knee each other.

Blank slouched down at that comment. He was unsure how to answer it.

"No. She shouldn't be. I know that. I'm not sure what you have heard about it. But, that's something beyond any of us." Blank's expression changed when he witnessed his new ally down his drink. Glad that he drank it, Blank did the same with his glass.

"Why? Well, I want to know about this place. I haven't been here that long. Wait.. How rude of me. My name is Blank.." He stood from his stool and extended his hand.

John glanced down at his hand, then back up at Blank. He was in no mood for hand shakes. He rarely ever was. A hand shake could say a few things about a man but John was getting enough from just watching him and listening to him. He took a drag from the cigarette and leaned on the bar.

"And so you want to go strutting over into one of the unsafest parts of this station, just because what... You want to have a look around?" John replied in a slightly mocking tone. "I have a reason for going and I don't want to take along anyone who's going to waste my time, prancing around like it's some sort of magical bloody adventure" he added grumpily, knocking back the last of the drink. "So unless you have something genuinely useful to bring to the party, I suggest you sling your hook, mate" he said. "Nice chat" he said, forcing a smile.

Blank simply withdrew his hand from above the bar. He knew this time. Stoic. Chaotic. He liked it. The more stoic, the better they are, usually. More importantly Blank was curious about this place, and this was a chance to find out more about it.

But before even having a chance to answer the question asked, Blank was dismissed. Blank could only grin as he sat himself back down on the stool before the man behind the bar. Pouring them each another taste. In just that moment, his entire demeanor changing from a friendly know nothing to something on the opposite side of the spectrum.

"It's impolite to not introduce yourself."

He hadn't introduced himself? That was unusual. He was usually on form with that sort of thing. It gave him a sense of control, and yet for some reason he just hadn't bothered. Maybe he had expected gossip to reach Blanks ears, and then what need was there for introductions?

"John Constantine. Exorcist, Demonologist, expert in the occult, and master of the Dark Arts" he replied with a smug little smirk. "There, better?" he asked, picking up the newly refilled glass.

He couldn't help but wonder if Blank was a real name or a nickname he had given himself. Gods, he knew enough people with weird alter egos. From the Green Arrow to the Legends.

"Is that all?" he asked.

Blank's face lit up a little bit when they were finally introduced. He knew who John was. But to hear it coming from the source's mouth was something else.

"Thank you. And no. I would like to join you to Wheel Five. I would like to know more about where I am.. As a friend once told me: "if it ain't hard, it ain't worth doin'."." Though he threw in a bit of an accent on the quote for effect, he was still rather serious about it.

Blank raised his glass toward John's as if to try to toast, knowing he'll more than likely fail.

Scarlet had had enough. The penis measuring contest was a little much. Perhaps she was hormonal due to her situation. Or perhaps sitting out in a hallway waiting to get the word that all was safe was just too much. She'd been here a few months, and Constantine hadn't even noticed she was there, so she wasn't worried.

"Exorcist, demonologist, expert in the occult, and Master of the dark arts... That's some resume." The soft rich tones of old New Orleans purred from her lips as she appeared on the same side of the bar John had been on. If you blinked you would have missed her fading into place. She was careful not to do 'hard landings' being fourteen months pregnant. And she didn't want to chance spooking an exorcist.

She was looking over the other drinks Bryn had to offer. Soda was out, as was coffee. Reeve would never get to sleep if she shared that with him. She glanced over at Blank, a raised eyebrow that said he might very well be in trouble later. "And it would be nice if ya'll kept it in your pants. No need in measuring... swords."

The Liverpudlian mage cupped his hand over the glass before picking it up, raising it to the other man in an empty gesture before knocking back a quarter of the drink. He barely had time to let it settle before he inhaled sharply, a little shocked by Scarlet's appearance. He knew Scarlet would be around, he just hadn't expected her to appear beside him the way she had.

"Took your time to show up, luv" John replied, rolling his eyes at her comments. He knocked back another quarter of the glass and took a drag from his cigarette. The drink and the nicotine helped keep him somewhat grounded, and it was amazing what magical feats he could accomplish with those two things alone and the right information.

"Well, now that we're all gathered here..." he paused and looked from Scarlet to Blank. "Why do you two really want to tag along? Most people don't tend to volunteer for things of this nature" he asked, his tone more serious.

He took a sip as his ghostly wife appeared beside him. Blank turned on his stool toward her less than a moment afterward.

She always knew how to make an entrance.

His eyes darted back and forth between the two. They knew each other. Which didn't come as a surprise to him. Maybe John knew more about him than Blank originally though.

His eyes widened a bit and his face turned a light shade of red at Scarlet's comment, then turning in to something else as he bit his inner lip. He knew that look all too well. He inhaled sharply, his eyes staying on her. Though it wasn't hard for him to feel the magics coming from John.

"It's something you get used to." Blank spoke with a smile as he almost completely ignoring John's question. "Can John get you something, a cranberry juice or a water?" John was still the man behind the bar after all, even if Scarlet was right next to him.

"Fourteen months pregnant doesn't mean broke fingers, darling." Her accent getting a little spicier with the added sass. She was still combing through the different additives to alcohol that would work as a simple drink. Sometimes Bryn's hand writing was atrocious.

"To answer your question, Mr. Constantine, Blank is an exorcist as well. It's how we met. But I'm not going to let him go up there and be so much body for so many crazy alien ghosts to possess him. No sir. Only one ghost may know him in such a biblical way. And, to paraphrase a popular song in the 2010s, 'he liked it so he put a ring on it'." She held up her left hand where a ring sat that was a lot like Bryn's bracelet, with an odd center to it that was bone colored, with a little bit of crimson and blue mixed in. "And there's no telling if spells will keep them out, where as I can absolutely insure his body remains unmolested."

Scarlet pulled a bottle that looked interesting, pulling the cork and giving the contents inside a sniff. "Can you read her handwriting? Sometimes I wonder if she confuses Norse with English." She asked whoever would answer.

Not only was Scarlet somehow miraculously pregnant, but she could drink? And touch things? She was interesting that was certain. He noticed the ring on her finger but didn't entirely piece things together right away. There was a lot to take in, a lot to make sense of. Between claims that Blank was an exorcist as well, and he ghostly status. Who they were, what their motives were. John needed to stay on his toes without raising any suspicions.

John glanced at the bottle. "It says 'mature bloodwine' on it" he replied casually. "Neither of you really answered my question though" he said, stubbing out his cigarette.

Though Blank was still turned toward Scarlet, his eyes couldn't help but drift toward John. Watching his reaction to all of this. Yes, it would be a bit bewildering, to see a full body apparition do what she wanted with the bottles.

"No, I'm pretty sure that says 'Grenadine.' It took a friend of mine almost a year to figure out Bryn's handwriting." And that was where Blank would leave that one.

As Scar went through the bottles, Blank turned his stool back towards back. His eyes setting on the man behind the bar before him. "But, I did, John. This isn't some gallivant for us. Like I said, I am new here, and I want to know everything about this place, from its best to is worst. I'll say it again: 'if it ain't hard, then it ain't worth doin'.'" Blank stood firm on that point. He did want to know what his place was all about, but how could he get John to trust that he was no slouch?

"I think Constantine is right, my love. The Grenadine still has its original label." And it was two words. She fit the bottle back in where it belonged and pointed to the obvious red drink in the clear bottle. Though the Mage's answer made her turn more fully toward him. Why did he know Bryn's handwriting?

Scarlet smiled. "I've been up there a few times already. I know what they feel like, what they are like. And there's a boy who goes up there to fix things, he can't see them. Or at least I don't think he can. So I go up there with him without him knowing. Just to keep him possession free. They don't seem to have much interest in Applejack."

She crossed behind John. Fully solid her skirts brushed against his legs. "Are you saying it wouldn't be handy to have a ghost on your side?" She began checking out the other bottles, finding one that would work, but she wrinkled her nose. Knowing what V8 tasted like. Anything for little Reeve.

John smirked slightly to himself, taking a small drink to cover his amusement. Wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, he allowed himself to settle once more, his expression becoming more neutral again. He leaned on the bar and thought about what both Scarlet and Blank had said.

"Hers sounds more like an answers. Yours still doesn't count, Squire" John replied to Blank. "You can learn more about the rest of the station. Not that many people visit wheel 5 and chances are you would have had no reason to go until you spotted my little message... I'm still regretting posting that" he added, knocking back the last of his drink before placing the glass down heavily. "Can you get a read on the other ghosts?" he asked, turning to look at Scarlet. He wanted to know just how tune she could be with the other ghosts.

There it was again. Squire. Blank almost narrowed his eyes, but decided on keep it cool for the moment. John did make a good point. Blank had no real reason to go, other than he wanted to. Instead, Blank smiled over at Scarlet, then back to John.

"I concede that, that is a fair point. I have no true reason to go to Wheel 5, other than my own curiosity. Which, might not seem like good enough reason to have a squire tag along. But, sooner or later I would be making my way there. Why not go with someone who has a general idea about it? Not saying you would be a 'tour guide' or anything of the sort." Blank poured John another, giving himself a taste as well. "And, I can get a read on ghosts. Been able to 'feel' them since I was a boy." Blank shrugged his shoulders lightly, as his eyes wandered over to the other side of the main bar.

"Hey.... Sorry, is that a jukebox?"

"Yes. I don't have to know their language to know their intention? If that makes sense. I can also make myself seem bigger than I am?" Scarlet caught her lower lip between her teeth, as she tried to figure away to explain it where it made sense. She was little, with an exception of her belly, petite and short. She stepped up closer to John now that she had her chosen drink. If he was as good as he said he was he would be able to feel her 'grow'.

Scarlet closed her eyes and passed the glass bottle of V8 over to Blank. So she wouldn't break it, just in case. And she made her presence bigger, the feel of her. Large enough that it would feel like it was pressing against him, but it wasn't.

"Do you wan't Bryn to come out here and string you up by your toes?" She asked her husband, her eyes remained closed, as she let the 'growth' calm down back to her natural size. Or Supernatural.

"Oh so I don't need you around then?" John replied, raising his eyebrows, giving Blank a mock surprised look. He rolled his eyes, pausing only when he felt something strange. Rolling his shoulders a little, he tried to shrug it off but he had clearly tensed up a bit. His facial expression grew more harsh, and a shiver ran up his spine. When she returned her presence to normal, he tried to shrug it off, reaching for the bottle he had brought out before Blank had arrived to pour a shot, knocking it back right away and lighting another cigarette. He didn't really care if they didn't like smoking.

"Point well made" he said, refilling his glass. "I had planned on going into Wheel five, assessing the situation and seeing what I could do to release the ghosts trapped there. They were driven mad and they've been stuck there ever since. I think it's about time they moved on... What I can't quite figure out is, it it something here keeping them on the station, or is it their own fear, their own anger? Their trauma tying them to this place" John pondered to Blank and Scarlet.

"No, probably not. But here we are." Blank responded. He wasn't going to do his best to persuade John to "allow" him to come along, but it would be nice to have more than one person watching everyone's backs.

Hm. Blank noticed John's very brief change in demeanor, he hid his smirk gently as he caught the bottle of V8 Scarlet sent him. Blank didn't mind the smoke John lit up. Who was he to tell someone else how to live their life?

Blank poured both John and himself another drink. A shot of bourbon, with a shot of V8 on top of it.

"No, Scar. I don't. Been there, not a fan."

Just after John started on his spiel, Blank's attention stayed on the "jukebox." About in the middle of it, Blank stood up from his stool and made his way toward it, drink in hand. An unseen grin came across his face as he moved his finger across the LED screen, punching in a search once he figured it out. Blank chuckled softly to himself as the song "Desert Rose" began to play over the sound system.

Scarlet was not going to ignore what John said in favor of a sound system. Though she did watch her husband as he made his way toward the sound system. "I think for the most part it's the trauma they sustained. Because there are a lot of spirits on loop, they don't seem know you're there... Also sorry. I wasn't sure how to explain I don't go all Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. It's more an essence thing, without sounding like a jabbering moron." The last word was drawn out a little more than her accent would naturally do, as she heard the song. Her eyes narrowed on Blank.

What was he up to? She propped her balled fists up on her hips. "Pardon him I think he's lost his mind." She didn't get the connection. Why Sting? Normally he played sweet, older, songs for her. So this obviously wasn't for her sake.

John wasn't sure what to make of Blank. If he was so interested in going to Wheel 5 then why wasn't he paying attention? And did he just put a Sting song on?

"He's only proving that I'm wasting my bloody time here..." John muttered, knocking back the recently poured drink. A few puffs of his cigarette and he slid the glass away. "I'll go by myself. It was pretty bloody stupid of me to think I could actually trust someone else to tag along with me. So, it was nice meeting you" he said, turning to Scarlet. "And as for that Muppet... " he said, glancing at Blank. "Enjoy getting to know the station. I'm sure your missus would be happy to show you around" he said, his tone and expression rife with irritation.

"Wait!"

Blank turned on his heel away from the 'jukebox.' Slowly the mage made his way back up to the bar, sighing as he did. He turned toward John and stared him right in the eye as he set the 'tomato juice'/boubon abomination on the bar before him.

Blank went too far.

"It really depends on what happened on the Wheel 5." The moment Blank spoke the 'jukebox' stopped playing music. "Since I have only been here a few days I've only heard bits and pieces. But, of what I know of ghosts, if it was violent, like you said John, it may be anger that's probably be the cause of them staying here. If it was sudden, then there is unresolved business. There are other ways as well." Blank looked between John and Scarlet, a light frown coming to his face. He didn't come here to make an enemy, he came here to make a friend.

"I apologize for, my 'measuring' just then. It was uncalled for, John. Please, forgive me."

Scarlet was about to issue an apology to John for Blank. Ready to blame space madness, when her husband, the man she did marry, did instead. But the meeting had started out bad. She should have never stayed behind. Maybe it wouldn't have started out with stick measuring.

"I think this whole meeting got off on the wrong foot. Why don't you two start over, this time with a proper hostess? See how it goes from there. I'm sure the same mistakes wont be made." Scarlet hoped there would be no more 'mine is bigger than yours'.

She dipped down in a slight curtsy, because she couldn't go down any farther. "I am Scarlet, and this is my husband Blank. Sometimes he's a goof," She gave the mentioned man a glance that didn't hide one bit of love she had for him. "But usually he's harmless. And I think he would prove a very useful ally for venturing up to wheel five. I've only seen him bend for one spectre and she might have been a very naughty one."

John stopped in his tracks. He knew he should have just went it alone. Not bothered to make any announcements and just did what needed to be done. That's what he would have done over a year ago. No asking permission, no trying to make friends along the way. He would have investigated and then dealt with the situation as he saw fit. Had he gone soft? Was it the Legends that had made him softer or the station? Maybe both.

"You have two minutes to change my mind. Make this worth my time" John stated firmly. He hadn't moved out from behind the bar but he was ready to go at any moment. He took a cigarette from the pack and lit it, pocketing everything else he didn't need. "And pour us a decent drink" he added, nudging his glass towards Blank.

Blank smiled slightly, he thought he had gone too far with the Sting thing. Whew. Uncapping the bottle once more, he poured them each half of a glass, nudging John's glass back to him. Blank grabbed his glass and leaned back on the stool, looking between Scar and John.

"Gymnopedie No. 1" as played by the London Symphony Orchestra began to play over the sound system. Nice, and relaxing.

"Honestly, I doubt there is anything I can say to change your mind, John. You seem like the type that when you make up your mind, that's the end of it." Blank raised his glass to his lips and took a sip. "And, I'm not so arrogant to think that I can do that. I'm instead asking you, would you allow us to join you, to have your back on the fifth wheel?"

Gods, Blank was awful at this..

Sometimes he was so adorably awkward that she just wanted to pinch him. But now wasn't the time. Now that the air seemed to be lifted, it was at least a little less hostile. No more measuring. If there was more she definitely would do some pinching.

Scarlet moved back down the bar, where the opened bottle of V8 sat... A glass of ice would make it more palatable. She started to collect. "Blank is very good at what he does. So good that he travels between worlds, in time, to help people. And he has done, since he was young." Which wasn't entirely a fabrication, even if he had to wait until Nero came along to do the time, and world hopping. "Bryn does too." She glanced over to the door that lead to the vampire's apartment.

"But there is also the chance that the spell on you to keep you from being possessed wont work. And then you're being ridden like a... Pardon the coarse language, but ridden like a bought prostitute in an all male prison yard." She poured the vegetable juice into the glass of ice she'd collected, and gave it a distasteful glance. "I will gladly keep that from happening, but only if you take Blank with you."

John thought about what their words. He had already made up his mind but he had other things to consider. Blank was sort of right about John in a way. Sort of. People were capable of changing his mind if they made strong enough arguments, or if John found another use for them. That usually ended in their death though... And as if conjured just by that thought, he could feel the presence of his own personal ghosts nearby.

Taking in a short breath through his nose, he tilted his head to the side slightly as he looked at Blank. "She's clever" he said, turning his head to look at her. "All right... he can come along and if we need you, he can call on you" he said, gesturing to Blank with his thumb. He picked up the newly refilled glass and swirled the liquid around, gazing at it briefly. "Or you can keep an eye from a distance. Either way, I'm going to sort things out one way or another" he shrugged, knocking back the drink.
