It still hadn't settled in. She still hoped she would go back to how things were or maybe even go back to her own world. To fix things. But that was not how things went. Life went on, no matter how she felt. It did not matter that the world felt wrong. It did not matter that no smile made sense.

Two weeks now. She had been here for two weeks. It was not improbable that this was temporary. She said up straight in her chair and stared at the lonely plate in front of her on the table. Her toast was already cold. She nibbled a little bit, then pushed it away. This was stupid. She got up and threw the toast into the bin. Coffee. That counted as food, right? It had only been a recent thing with her but she was slowly coming around to it. She fished out a pad and put them into the machine. Mug. Switch on. The purr that followed was a good one. The smell was just as delightful.

There was one good cure against sadness: her nephew running towards her and holding up his stuffed wolf. It was a sight that broad back normality. Zu joined with a smile. It wasn't as carefree as it usually would be. But most importantly it was there.

"I have," she chuckled. "It is always the wolves. Has my cousin taught him that?" She had met this part of the family in her timeline too. Hródolf had grown into a formidable young boy in her own timeline. He had made family gatherings so much more lively. If the mood was down, if something did not go according to plan, you could count on Hródolf draw attention and make it all better.
