"Sorry," she said before she could stop herself, before her mind could catch up with the fact that that wasn't the right response if she wanted any kind of plausible deniability. Somewhere along the lines though, probably in the last couple of seconds, she'd got a bit lost in this whole thing.
The thing was this felt sort of incredible, he wanted this more than she'd actually realised until this moment. It wasn't like she hadn't thought about it before. There was something about Malc, the whole alpha male thing - that had made her think he might have been completely dominant in the bedroom, and while she wasn't in the least bit disappointed he wasn't, she wanted to experience this - the way he was with other people, in this context.
She pressed her lips together, trying not to make another sound although she still wasn't sure why, she should be encouraging him, surely?. Only her mind really wasn't working to full capacity. The book thudded to the floor and all she could do was look at it.
She opened her mouth to answer at the exact moment he chose to kiss her and all she managed was a rather heartfelt 'fuck.' She took a shaky breath, trying to pull herself together and tried again. "Can-can we not analyse this right now?" she asked. "Maybe I just like your passion," she offered, though the excuse sounded feeble even to herself. "Maybe...maybe I just want to hear your fucking voice." She twisted her head just enough to look at her, a strange mix of love and hate mixing in her veins. "Or maybe I just want you to shut me up."
