Everything was going pretty great. The sheriff was dead, the money wasn't going to the "war effort" The people would get what they needed. They were out from under the thumb of the cardinal. And he had Marian by his side again. That was always good.

Walking through the forest, he thought he heard something behind them. Giving Marian a quick kiss, he went to investigate. After determining that they weren'tbeing followed, he turned to go back and everything changed. The forest was different. He ran to catch up but no matter how much he ran, he couldn't find them.

"Marian! John! Tuck!" He turned in a circle. How could he have gotten so lost? He knew Sherwood almost better than he knew Loxley Manor. What was going on?

"MARIAN!"

Tommy had set up little viewing areas in all five of the wheel parks, with telescopes he'd built during sleepless nights. All of them were trained on different sections of space, and although they all synced to his computer in the lecture theater, so he could monitor all the things they saw, he still liked to go and check on them. This morning, he'd headed over to the telescopes on Wheel 4 to see if they needed any manual checking.

And then he heard someone yelling in the nearby trees. Huh.

He glanced round at the trees, then back at his telescope. It could wait. He set his tools down and walked closer, his hand in his pocket with a firm grip on his phone just in case.

"Hello? Who's there?"

Robin jumped, bow immediately at the ready, two arrows nocked. If it was someone friendly, he could put it down easily enough.

He moved slowly through the trees in the direction of the voice. "Hello?" He called, still moving. He didn't recognize the voice, or the accent for that matter.

Tommy was doing something similar, moving towards the new voice. He could move quietly through the forest when he had to - he'd spent more than enough time with his Uncle Jake as he was growing up, after all, although not nearly as much time as Rach or JR - but sneaking up on new people when he had no idea who they were or what they could do seemed like a very stupid idea. So he settled for simply walking without trying to cover up where he was and gestured as he walked, his free hand confident in its controlled sharp movements despite the pain in the joints, and a shield formed around him.

"Hi! Have you just arrived?" he called.

Robin turned toward the voice, ready to defend himself if necessary. He almost immediately dropped his bow, just staring at the other person. How was it even possible? He took a few steps closer.

"Arrived? Where exactly? And...why do you look like me?" He was an only child and had no other family that he knew of. This was all very strange.

Tommy stopped at the sight of the bow, and dithered a bit about putting his hands up even after the other man had lowered the point of the arrow. "Arrived. You're somewhere different to where you'd been a couple minutes ago, am I right?" he said, staying where he was for the time being.

"And I was here first. You look like me," he added, somehow managing a brief smile.

Robin gave the man a good once over and determined that he was likely unarmed. He kept the bow in hand but lowered it to point at the ground. He couldn't be too careful.

"I...yes, I am." He nodded as he looked around briefly. "This isn't Sherwood." He decided to leave the other comment for now. Figuring out where he was took priority over someone else having his face.

"Sherwood?" Oh... crap. "No, this isn't Sherwood forest. This isn't really a forest or a wood at all," Tommy tried to explain. He was rubbish at talking to people, why had he done this?

"We're in a... a city. In the stars. This is a park within the city. If you want, I can show you? My telescope's just back this way. My name's Tommy, by the way. Tommy Sully. I've been here for just over a year now."

A city in the stars? What was going on?

"Um...yeah. That would be good." He needed to see it with his own eyes to believe it. Deciding that the other man was basically harmless, Robin returned his arrows to their quiver, but he kept the bow in his hand.

"Robin of Loxley." He gave a quick bow. There was no point to the title anymore. "Most people call me Rob."

Robin Hood. Ha. Robin Hood looked like him. First Eggsy, now Robin Hood. That was... bizarre, really. Tommy was one of the biggest nerds going, and yet he had a spy and Robin Hood as face twins.

As the arrows went back into their quiver, he relaxed a little bit. He nodded when Robin bowed, and then turned to walk back towards his viewing area. "It's this way," he said over his shoulder, and watched to see if Robin... Rob, sorry, followed.

He stayed quiet at the start but then thought it was starting to get a bit awkward with all the silence. "What do you do, Rob?" he asked, then quickly went on to explain what he did before he could start kicking himself for asking Robin Hood what his job was. "I'm... I study the stars, and if people want to learn science or math, I can teach them."

Robin nodded and started to follow Tommy. He was a bit strange but he did remind him of Tuck a bit. Quiet and awkward unless talking about something that was his passion. In Tuck's case it was religion.

"I didn't realize that was a field of study. The stars, I mean." Math and science were subjects often taught. "At least not other than trying to define the future from them." He'd get around to what he did later, though anyone back in Nottingham knew by now.

"Oh yeah!" Tommy replied, looking round with a smile now. "They're fascinating! Although they don't tell the future. That's Astrology you're thinking of. I study Astronomy. Planets and their moons, comets, stars forming and dying and all the parts in-between, galaxies and black holes, all sorts of things."

They left the trees behind as he talked, and the park became much more maintained-looking. The "sky" faded out as they walked closer to Tommy's viewing area, and soon enough the stars were visible in their millions. The slow rotation of the wheel meant that a thin arc of the planet below them still remained in view, and Tommy turned to face Rob. "This is a city amongst the stars. This has to be a shock, and I'm sorry, but you're nowhere near Sherwood. You're nowhere near Earth. Everyone here has been brought here. There aren't that many of us, nowhere near enough to fill the city, but nobody here has done anything to bring you here, and we don't know how to get anyone home yet. I'm sorry, Rob."

Robin smiled as Tommy talked excitedly about his science. Definitely reminded him if Tuck. As soon as the stars and the planet came into view he just stood there. Nowhere near Earth. No way to get home. There was a lot to process. It was probably a couple of minutes that he just stood there staring up at the sky.

"No way to get back." It wasn't a question. Maybe they could manage without him. He'd already been presumed dead for two years prior.

"Not that we know of, I'm afraid," Tommy said, clearly willing to let Rob have time to process things. Rawm woke up at that point, and stood up from where he'd been sleeping, curled up at the bottom of one of the telescopes. The dog yawned and stretched, electricity flickering across his fur like little lightning strikes, and then he padded over to sit close to Tommy.

"This is my dog, Rawm," Tommy said to Rob, his hand dropping down to rest on the dog's back. He was completely unbothered by the electricity, in the same way as Rawm was completely unaffected by Tommy's shields. "Rawm, this is Rob. Say hello."

The dog gave a bark, and let his tongue loll out of his mouth as he dropped his jaw in a doggy grin.

Rob just blinked as he watched the lightning travel over the dog's fur. Both seemed to ignore it so he just nodded and allowed a little bit of a smile.

"It's very nice to meet you, Rawm." He'd talked to his horses plenty of times, so a dog wasn't strange at all.

"You seem rather passionate about your astronomy." That had been the word, hadn't it? He was glad to have something to take his mind off being stuck wherever here was.

"I always have been," Tommy said, "even as a kid. But look at this." He brought his phone out from his pocket and quickly brought up a picture of what looked like a multi-colored cloud in space. "This is what that telescope is looking at," he said and pointed at the largest of the three telescopes, then held up the little screen for Rob to look at. "A telescope is a device that lets you see much further than you can with just your eye. Some of them use glass lenses to bend the light, and it lets you see further ahead of you. So if you're sailing a ship, and you have a telescope, you could see further ahead than if you don't have one. Rocks in the way, enemy ships, whatever. This telescope is looking a lot further away, so it's using radiowaves and... I've lost you, haven't I?"

The strange thing in Tommy's hand with what looked like an image on it was hard enough to grasp. Then he was talking about the telescope and lenses and it was all a bit much to wrap his head around.

"That obvious?" He was sure it had to read in his expression.

"Sorry," Tommy said as he turned the screen back to himself and thumbed the side button, "I get carried away sometimes." Idiot, he told himself and put his phone back in his pocket before rubbing at the knuckles in his left hand. They were sorer than usual today, he noted, and then looked back at Rob.

"Look, I, uhm. I can explain this to you some other time, if you want. But... You're going to need a place to stay and probably something to eat and drink, if you'd like. Most people live in a different part of the city. Would you like me to take you there?" Rawm had perked up at the mention of eating, and added a curious doggy noise at the end, as if he was trying to join in the conversation.

"It's quite alright. You remind me of my friend Tuck. He gets like that sometimes. Says I get this look on my face when things are going over my head. Never really have the heart to stop him, though." He chuckled. At the mention of food and drink Rob realized it'd been almost a full day since he last ate something.

"Some food would be good, yeah. I'm a bit short on coin at the moment...." A lord with nothing in his pockets. Marian would have loved that.
