Re: Shepard and Darcy
Shepard wet her lips, and lowered her voice. "I need to know your rules." Rules that were likely already broken but what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him. It was the effort that mattered right? Her eyes cut to him and then over to Rawdon.
"I'm not sure we have much in common Darcy. But that one thing... Well I wish we didn't but I know like me... Like me you had to watch it, and was helpless to do anything to stop it." Though her parent's death had been quick, and it had been violent. And it took her a long time to make peace. But she knew how to empathize, probably better than most. At least about that.
Shepard snorted softly. "I haven't been told anything. Being told and getting a group invitation isn't the same thing. Being told and finding out... Well. To be frank," As if she'd ever been anything else. "Finding out something like that sucks." There was a part of her that had wanted to be told. Wanted to be excited. Wanted to be shown the ring. It was silly. But she felt robbed of that.
"Hey, I'm not saying I wasn't at fault, but I didn't lie to her. I didn't leave anything out. And if I did any wounding, it might have not been in person but it was to her face. Where I got it straight to the center of the back." Except when she was drunk. With Rawdon, but he'd talked her out of her level of crazy. With that in thought she gave the man that was damn near center of almost every thought. Which made her sigh. How had that happened? "I'll consider it, under one condition, if you can convince him to sit in as moderator." He didn't have to get involved, but he had an odd ability to calm her down.
She could feel his exasperation. She grinned a little. "How about after you're sure you can handle it, I'll set you up with some armor and any time you want to have it out, come at me bro." She teased just a little.
Shepard narrowed her eyes at him. "Shit. How did that happen?" Her voice was lowered for the expletive so not to scandalized anyone that might be standing too close.
