Mrs Reynolds had done a fantastic job in getting everything set up in such a short time. The ballroom had been decorated with whatever flowers she could find. Most of them coming from the estate itself. The new Mrs Darcy had been rather okay with whatever Mrs Reynolds could find, rather than fussing over specific things. It was refreshing.

There was a full orchestra off in one corner. Mr Darcy had insisted on sneaking them in so that it could be a surprise for Ashley, but that hadn't been easy to do. They'd managed it, though, and everyone was getting set up while Mrs Reynolds put the finishing touches on the room. There were chairs everywhere in case someone wanted to sit while they ate. There were buffet tables all around the room as well with various meats and pies and pastries. Anything that anyone could want. As well as a few with punch and glasses to drink from. And Mrs Walker had done a lovely job on the wedding cake with all the sugar flowers and decorating. It was just lovely.

Mrs Reynolds had to dab at her eyes a bit as she moved around the room to make sure everything was perfect. She was so happy that Mr Darcy found someone that made him smile the way he used to before his father died. It was lovely to see that light in him again. And it was obvious to her that this wasn't just a marriage of convenience. They really did love each other. Once everything was ready, she opened the ballroom doors wide and propped them open for the guests. One of the maids commented about wondering where the happy couple had gotten off to rather than being there to greet the guests as they entered and Mrs Reynolds just smirked and sent the girl back to her tasks. Definitely not a marriage of convenience.

There weren't a whole lot of occasions that she got dressed up for, well short of her dress uniform, and even fewer where she wore a dress. And if she'd passed through the door and remained a ghost she wouldn't have thought to bother. But she hadn't. She had been absolutely human. So she felt this was one satiation that she had best wear a dress, and since she was going to be wearing one, she went all out. Her hair was up in some borrowed combs, her lips painted a rich burgundy to match her dress, her eyes bore winged liner, and false lashes.

Shepard glanced around the room, hoping to see a few friendly faces. She did notice that there was at least a few red coats like Rawdon had mentioned. But none stood out nearly as much as he did. And she didn't want to over think why that was.

Before Rawdon had headed for the door, he'd assumed that it would work out and that he would be able to go to the reception without feeling the desire to suck anyone's blood. So, in preparation he'd changed into his dress uniform. It had turned out to be a good move, because it worked. The evening sun of Derbyshire had done nothing to set his skin on fire, and before long he was mingling his way around a big, posh ballroom at the Pemberley Estate.

It felt like he'd been allowed to rewind time. Well, he suppose he had, literally. He spoke to some of the other officers there, all easily identified by their matching coats, and felt himself quite at home, and before long he was circling his way back to the Commander who wasn't allowed to admit to being a Commander. But she was looking mighty fine in her regency dress.

"Did you spot the cake?" he waggled his eyebrows at her. "Not too shabby at all."

Shepard had pretty much been a wall flower since coming into the ballroom, besides scoping out the buffet table, the crowd. She didn't think anyone would approach her, not anyone that didn't know anyway. The hardest part was standing at a relaxed stance, her go to an automatic 'at ease', so it was a fight to keep her hands at her sides. To not look like she was out of place when she very much was.

At least until the object of many stolen glances walked her way. The smile that turned up her lips was an easy one. And he was just as much eye candy up close as he had been across the room. "I did, Isabel out did herself. Have you got a close up? Is it Royal Icing or something softer?"

"Oh, Isabel did the cake?" he asked, spotting her across the room apparently standing as something of a bodyguard for her creation. "It looks like royal icing, yeah," he admitted, giving her an exaggerated little pout. He knew she had hoped for something else, something to do with cream that he hadn't questioned at the time.

"But they do have trifles and iced pudding as well, and a lot of fancy fruit compote things," he told her, not sure if any of them were close, but the trifle at least had cream and custard.

Ashley had done a great deal of mingling, getting introduced to her husband's various friends and family members. She'd noticed her mother talking to Rawdon and decided to let them have their moment, using it as an excuse. She wasn't sure why but she was terrified. But her mother had shown up. That was the first step.

She picked up two glasses of some kind of fruity punch that Mrs Reynolds said was just the best. Taking a deep breath, she crossed the room and smiled at Shepard.

"You look lovely. I wasn't sure if it would be the right fit." She bit her lip and offered one of the cups of punch.

Shepard had been so preoccupied in watching one particular Red coat that she fancied above all others. That tailed coat really was a shame though. It was still fun watching him work a room. She caught herself fanning her face more than one time. She didn't care if it was inappropriate.

So the wide eyes and the odd back of throat noise wasn't her sounding guilty of something at all, when Ashley walked up. "I uh.. Yeah, thanks. I was worried the color might be to loud for this place but it seems I fit right in." She waved her hand toward the other Red Coated men.

She took the offered cup, and gave it a light sniff. Not that she'd been completely sober since joining the Sausage club, but she wanted to be aware of it if she was going to drag her feet off the wagon. It smelled sweet, not alcoholic, so it was either hidden really well or it was just punch. She so she chanced a sip. It was good. She tipped the glass to Ashley.

Ashley nodded. "I was informed of the number of soldiers possibly attending before I bought the dress." She looked around the room for a second. She didn't question the hesitation in trying the punch. She wasn't even sure what all was in it. Ashley topped her glass as well and took a sip. It was good, but she wasn't sure she agreed with Mrs Reynolds' assessment.

"I'm really glad you came."

Ashley had politely asked that there not be some grand announcement as they walked into the ballroom. She knew that it would cause a moment of unnecessary stress for her new husband and the whole point of the reception was to enjoy themselves. So they simply walked into the ballroom without calling attention to themselves.

Ashley had changed into a different dress for the reception. She didn't want to risk her wedding dress getting dirty. She could be clumsy on occasion and was afraid of staining it.

When she walked into the ballroom and saw the full orchestra playing in the corner, she gasped softly. She'd been expecting maybe a quintet but certainly not that.

"Liam, it's wonderful." She whispered to him.

Darcy was incredibly grateful to Ashley - she seemed to preempt everything that was likely to cause him anxiety, and then find a workaround. She did it as a matter of course, as naturally as if she had been thinking of it all her life. And it had been worrying him, so when he knew that they could just walk into the room together and mingle about at their own pace, it was a wonderful relief. He felt like he might actually be able to enjoy the gathering for once, not worry about his every tiny action.

As they walked in, he was able to look to his new wife and see her reaction to the orchestra. It was exactly as he had hoped for, and he was grinning from ear to ear as he watched her take it all in.

"I thought you might like that," he whispered in return.

She wanted to kiss him but she knew that wasn't acceptable in public, even now that they were married. So instead she settled for squeezing his arm. It really was wonderful. Everything had come together perfectly and she even loved the cake. She'd given Isabel a little free reign on the design.

"So, Mr Darcy, whom shall we speak to first?" She chuckled. She'd spotted her mother in the lovely dress that she'd picked for her. It was a good color and Ashley was thankful to see a good fit. She needed a little time to muster up some courage before going over, though. There was a lot to apologize for.

Once Isabel made sure the cake was perfect and in the table, she went to go change. Ashley had insisted that she not just stay with the staff even though she technically had been.

She wore a bright red dress that Georgiana had picked out for her and had her hair done up perfectly. She wasn't really sure what to do with herself, though, since she didn't know any of the dances and was paranoid about something happening to the cake. She decided to just stand near the table, sipping some kind of punch.

Izzy knew her hair should be a natural colour through the door. It was blonde and worn in an updo that fit the time period. Though her gloves were white, she'd chosen a green dress to be colourful. She had to smile when she saw Isabel in bright red and wondered if she'd had similar thoughts. She poured herself a glass of punch and looked at her. "I like your dress. It must be nice to be somewhere with colour after being in the food court."

Isabel had been a bit busy following Colonel Fitzwilliam around the room with her eyes so she hadn't noticed Izzy walk up. It took a second for her brain to figure out that someone was actually talking to her.

"Hmm? Oh....yeah. I haven't really spent much time in the food court, though. Don't really like what it's decided to dress me in." She chuckled softly. "I love the kitchen here, though."

Adam was enjoying himself immensely. The strange not-a-curse that appeared to be affecting the station was limited to only affect him whilst he was on the station, and so the instant he had made his way through the very odd-looking park, and then the door, he was himself once more. Reason enough to be delighted, yes, but he was then in a place that was so similar to his home in terms of time, fashions, social niceties and suchlike that he was strongly considering suggesting to Belle that they ask permission to stay until the damn door closed. And hopefully the station would be over its bizarre little snit at that point, and he would no longer need to be the Beast.

Still, he decided to leave such thoughts and requests until after the reception. They were here to celebrate alongside Monsieur Darcy and Mademoiselle Sully ... Madame Darcy now, of course, and so they would celebrate.

Georgiana had been quite enjoying herself. It was wonderful to see the old Fitz again. And to see so many of her family members. The ones she actually liked, at any rate.

She made the rounds, saying hello to several people and then found herself in front of Adam. Her brother had spoken of him and she curtsied.

"Bonjour Monsieur. Je suis ravi que vous ayez pu assister à cette soirée. Je suis Georgiana Darcy. Mon frère m'a parlé de vous."

"Thank you. Though I must admit that I've gotten close to the limit of my knowledge." She chuckled and blushed just a little bit. "Fitz is much better at it." She never truly believed she was good at much, though she was confident in her musical ability at least. Georgiana brightened a bit.

"Oh yes. She's a delight to be around. And it does help that I love shopping." She giggled.

Belle had a chosen a blue dress. It had a red embroidery around the empire waistline and she paired it with long white gloves. She was certain Adam had picked up on the subtle reference to home. All the colours of the French flag were represented. She was so happy to see him as himself through the door. It was a wonderful night.

She was standing a distance from him, having wanted to give her congratulations to not only the bride and groom, but to Georgiana and the other Sullys she recognized as well. With that done, she walked back to him and held out her hand. Her head tilted towards the dance floor. ""Voulez-vous m'accorder cette danse?"

Adam had been watching Belle during the evening so far, happy to see her mingling with friends from the station and charming new ones from Monsieur Darcy's home. She could hardly blame him for watching, though. Not when she was so beautiful that she took his breath away.

"Mais bien sûr, mon amour," he replied with a dazzling smile, and took her gloved hand before bowing slightly to kiss the back of it. As he straightened, he offered her his arm so that they could walk onto the dance floor together.

Sookie had chosen a dress with delicate lace details.; perhaps she wanted to show a softer side of herself to Kelan. She'd curled her hair to fit the style and so people would believe that she was Ashley's aunt. It would be hard to explain their family to any local guests. She'd kept her answers as short and simple as she could while being polite. Manners were a big thing in this time period.

She finished one of those conversations with one of those locals (perhaps a member of the staff) and looked around for Kelan or any other guest from the station.

Miguel was beyond happy. Sure, Darcy and Ash had gotten married, and that was great. But the main reasons for Miguel being so happy were pretty obvious, to him at least. Sarah was with him, looking amazing, and he was back to being himself again.

Their walk down from the door to Darcy's house had taken far longer than expected, given that Miguel had felt the need to bounce through the trees for a while, for the simple reason that he could. He'd been turning cartwheels along thicker branches and somersaulting to the ground, and it was fantastic. There was also the fact that Sarah had been with him, and was more than happy to give in to his frequent requests for kisses (at the very least).

She'd brought his contacts, so he didn't have to wear his dark glasses, and Lyla (who was now talking to him again) had taken care of the rest of his clothes. He didn't look too shabby, he thought, as he looked around the room.

Rachel had decided on a lovely pink dress for the evening. It was nice to get dressed up occasionally. Throughout the night she'd been going around and giving all the flowers a little touch up, keeping them looking fresh and beautiful.

When she spotted Miguel, she smiled brightly. He looked extremely happy to be there. She walked over and gave a curtsey, smirking.

"Very nice to see you this evening."

He raised an eyebrow at the curtsey, and smiled back. Miguel was bad enough at the social conventions in his own time, never mind while he was time-travelling.

"It's very nice to see you too, Rachel. Are you enjoying the party?" he asked, and then lifted a couple of glasses of wine from a waiter walking past; one red and one white. "Which one do you want?" he offered. He liked both, so if she didn't want either, bonus for him.
