Re: Shepard and Ashley and Rawdon
Now that he'd relaxed a little, Rawdon felt comfortable enough to laugh with her. In fact, he felt a little rotten for believing half the rumours he'd heard about her new husband. He didn't seem that bad - in fact, he reminded him a little of his brother. Which no doubt meant he would tease him mercilessly, embarrass him, anger and annoy him... but he didn't think him such a terrible person anymore. Hopefully he would be good to his new wife.
"Oh, grandpa, by jove. I somehow believe you would do exactly that," he smiled. Would he be around that long? He couldn't imagine for a moment that he wouldn't be.
"Good, good. She's very good to me. I can't imagine why, but... no one would've blamed her if she'd just left me in the medbay to rot, you know? There's more to it than that, of course, but... well. It helped," he nodded, and then cleared his throat a little, quite done with sentimentality for one evening. "This is a beautiful estate," he changed the subject to a safer one.
