Once they had made it to the medbay, Rob had stuck around for a little while to help. He really did feel partly responsible, and he wanted to be sure that everything was okay before he left. Darcy had kept drifting in and out of consciousness. When he was awake, he was terribly confused and said very little. Eventually, with Dr Cuddy and Dr Morgan working away, Rob knew that he was just getting in the way, so he slipped out into the waiting room.

He hadn't really been planning on sticking around, he'd already asked the doctors to pass on his best wishes once Darcy knew what he was talking about, and he would visit again once he was up to it. But as he walked out, there was the woman he'd spoken to briefly on the radio. She looked sick with worry.

"Hi, lass," he greeted her simply, resisting the urge to just start apologising.
