Despite being from the 1800s, Rawdon felt that he had adapted reasonably well to his new situation. There was a certain lightness to him - where some people might have mourned for the life they had left behind, Rawdon felt rather that he'd had quite the lucky escape. His money worries were gone, his batshit family couldn't contact him, he was no longer about to be blasted to smithereens by cannon fire, and his wife... oh, he should have been more upset about that. And yet there was that feeling again - lucky escape. No more sense of duty.
He was treating it rather like a vacation. Isabel had been right, and some of his things from home had indeed shown up. It seemed to be the contents of his London apartment, which meant he would be wearing his military dress for a while. He didn't mind at all, it was a familiar feeling in an unfamiliar world.
Pleased that he'd had some response to his cry of boredom on a Sunday evening, Rawdon had headed for the food court and soon found the gentleman he then found out was called Greg. Introductions done, they had headed along to the bar he had mentioned, and where apparently there was a third member to their party to be found.
