Shepard didn't really say anything. She glanced up at him briefly and she nodded. She didn't trust her voice. So she looked at the spot beside her, and nodded. What harm could it do? It wasn't like he was distracting her from watching the kids play together.
How she envied them a little. Blissfully unaware of the way their family had been paired down to nothing.
