Mexico City in 1947 was messing with his head a bit as he travelled through it with Sarah. Everywhere he looked, he could see where things would be in the future and how things would change, like a weird sort of overlay. A glitchy hologram or whatever. He'd had no such issues with the New York door, mainly because Downtown was New York and he knew Downtown very well indeed. Still, this was genuinely exciting for him. He was getting to see things well over a hundred years before he would even be born! Their tram trundled along streets he was going to walk down in the future, and the weird overlay showed him how the existing buildings would affect the ones he knew in the future.
Lyla had been warned not to speak unless he specifically called for her, but he knew she would be scanning as much as possible. Thankfully, she'd seen fit to disguise her watch as a slightly shabby time-appropriate analog watch, without him even asking it of her. She wasn't even projecting clothes over his spider-suit since he was wearing actual real clothes for this trip. And an actual wedding band on his left hand. It was a little bit loose on his finger, but he didn't mind; he'd found himself spinning it round his finger a few times since he'd put it on. He glanced down at it, smiled to himself and then slipped his arm around Sarah's shoulders. "Eres hermosa, mi amor," he said softly, although clearly not quietly enough as the old lady sitting behind them made happy noises about newly-weds in their general direction. He grinned, and pressed a kiss to Sarah's hair, before pointing out that their hotel would be coming up soon. He'd have to get up and get their case in a minute.
