As if this place could not get any worse Heather had gone missing during a shopping trip or some such thing. Where ever she had gone, he return had not happened. It put Kylo on edge after his own disappearance, which still kept him up at night with dreams and memories of the event. It had only been a matter of hours that had had spent in his real timeline battling against foes he had since let go upon coming to the island.

Now the space station was turning upside-down. Body swaps. Gender changes. Age alterations. It was a headache to say the least and Kylo Ren hoped if he kept quiet and kept his head down he would not turn, once more, into his mother. Better yet he hoped not to turn into his father. He did not want to become either of them nor did he wish to become a woman, an elder, or a child. So he kept quiet. He meditated and trained as usual with his friends...acquaintances--if one could call them such. He never knew where they stood with that label and he knew better than to ask. He wasn't sure of what answer he would have wanted to hear, anyway.

Heavy steps led him down the halls to the food court where the young version of Heather await. Kylo didn't know what to expect and prepared himself for the worst. There was doubt in his mind she would recognize him and have her full memories as an adult. So far the children speaking over the intercom did not sound as if they recognized where they were or what had happened and it felt like a safe bet that Heather would be the same. So he hurried to meet her, not wanting her to be alone any longer than necessary. The mouth of the plaza was only sixty feet away, forty, twenty...he came to a stop just below the archway of the hall that opened into the greater food court and looked around.

"Heather!" he bellowed, worry sinking in when he did not see her immediately.

Heather had been in one of the shops collecting some lemonade for her and her new friend. Sure there was a level of stranger danger, but he was an adult. And he knew her name apparently! Her gaped smile grew when she heard him yell it. And she ran out of the shop without paying for the two bottles she carried in her little fingers.

"Here! I'm right here." Her voice was high pitched, but not squeaky, high enough to carry as she darted out into the food court.

"Red Tri-ton?" She carefully pronounced the name he had given her so she didn't get it wrong. She stopped just in front of the Knight. A smile still on her dimpled face.

Heather had always been short compared to the Goliath that was Kylo Ren, yet as a child she seemed so much more minuscule. Dark eyes watching her near he took a knee to greet her and be more at her level.

"Yes," he said with a nod and held out his hand. If he smiled within it did not reach his muscles on the external and he only continued to have that bland, sad, brooding expression he always did. Still, relief did wash him over to see she was safe.

"You can call me Kylo."

Heather put down the bottles of lemonade carefully, and took his hand, as much as she could, and gave it an honest shake. "That is a very pretty name!" She proclaimed, and probably had thought as much when she'd met him for the first time as an adult. "I am pleased to meet you, in person." She was simply glad that he wasn't a stranger anymore.

"I got us some lemonlade, cause being kidnapped is thirsty work. And Gramma says other stuff, but water, will rot your teeth out! And teeth seem very impor-tant in case we have to fight the aliems." She clicked her teeth together, as she picked up one of the bottles and held it out for him.

"You are a cordial child," he commented with a nod as their hands shook. "The pleasure is mine." Kylo then withdrew his hand and turned his gaze from her sweet little face to the lemonade bottles and took one from her.

"There are worse ways to lose your teeth than sugar," he mused as he stood up. "The aliens might take them instead. One at a time. And wear them for necklaces."

Heather quickly covered her mouth. With a gasp. "Well, I'd bite them good! If they tried! And then stomp their toes! Nobody is getting my teeth but the tooth fairy." She nodded firmly. But her hand remained covering her mouth. Outraged at the thought that some kidnapping aliens would want her teeth.

"The Denist sad I have really good teeth. You don't think that's why they kidnapped me, do you?" Her eyes grew wide at the thought.

"How will you bite without teeth?" Kylo asked as he examined the lemonade colored liquid. Who knew if it was really lemonade? His gaze then slid down to look at Heather and her mouth covering look.

"I don't know. Let me see your teeth."

"I'll bite the fingers tryin' ta get my teeth!" She nodded sharply. Her little brows knitting together over her nose.

Heather slowly lowered her hands from over her mouth, and gave him her cutest smile. "Oh! What about your teeth!?"

"You must consider they will not use their hands. They will utilize machines," Kylo commented. He briefly sized up her teeth, mostly looking at her childish smile.

"Those are very good teeth. I can see your concern. Mine are not as good; aliens only like the teeth of children." The funniest part of Kylo's game, perhaps, was his constant deep voice and fairly flat tone. He was most obviously joking and playing along and any adult could no doubt tell but a child? Well. He seemed quite serious.

Kylo, after a pause, bared his teeth. It was not a smile or a grin it was just a display of his fairly white, well kept teeth.

Heather wrinkled her nose at the thought of them using machines. He was right. The aliens wouldn't use their hands, that would be silly. "I'll just have to think of something else. Cause they can't have mine." She shook her head hard enough to make her twin braids dance along her shoulders.

Though she did stop to look at his teeth. Heavy in thought as she did. "We'd better hide. You keep my teeth safe and I'll keep your teeth safe. Cause they are pretty good teeth. Doctor West would be proud of you if he seen 'em." She added with a grim nod. They were good teeth. Good enough that the aliens might make an exception. And that would be very very bad.

"Very well," Kylo agreed as they head back toward the hallway he had come through. Once they were back in 'their' quarters he supposed he could figure out what to do with her from there. Maybe he should reach out to his Master and see if Willow couldn't entertain her. He was no good with children.

"We take pride in our appearance among the Order. You would not find a single soldier with teeth out of line."

Heather had quick, little, step to keep up with his strides. She didn't like slowing anyone down. She looked up at him when he said he was a soldier. Her eyes wide. She'd seen a few soldiers in church dressed in fancy uniforms.

"What kinda sold-ier are you? Them aliems are in trouble now."

He sighed and considered his response. "What kind of soldier do you think I am?" Kylo asked instead of answering. None of the answers he had were very nice and especially harsh to say to a child. That much he could respect and keep from her.

Heather stopped and looked him over from head to toe from behind. She only knew of a few soldiers. But he looked like a pretty strong one! "A Marine or a SEAL. Not the arf arf type though." She hurried and caught up again. "Or a Ranger. They are real tough too. My Grampa was a Marine."

Kylo Ren looked back at her with one brow slightly raised and he had a fond expression on his face before he turned and resumed the walk. "I am a knight of the highest order," he told her plainly. "My blade will cut through nearly anything, including aliens. I will keep you safe."

Heather stood in awe for a full second before she ran to catch up with him. A Knight! Like Lancelot! Or a Samurai. Now she really had no doubt that she was safe. That she made the right choice, that he wasn't a stranger. "Did they use their tractor beam to get you?" She looked up at him, the clear adoration written plainly on her face.

Not like Lancelot or a samurai. He was hardly kind. He didn't consider himself as such. At least if he were like Lancelot it would be in the way that Lancelot was, in some stories, a backstabbing friend who stole Arthur's gal.

Kylo Ren was simply a backstabber.

"There are no such thing as tractor beams," he told her. "Kidnapping is much more brutal."

Of course, she'd only heard the good things about the Knights of the Roundtable. She had been only told of the heroics of knights. The kid-friendly parts of the stories.

"No tractor beams? Whatta bout Captian Kirk?" Heather's eyes widened a little when she looked up at him instead of watching her feet and promptly tripped over her own foot.

The man paused and made a face of thought, confusion, before looking down at her. "I don't think he exists," Kylo finally said. "He is just a story." When she fell he turned and reached down for her, hands cautious and gentle on her arm to help her back up.

Heather grunted softly when she used his aid to stand back up. She hiked up one of the legs of her pants to check her knee. When she was satisfied that there wasn't more than a bruise marking where she'd landed she pulled it back down. "Gramma gets upset when I mess up my pants with blood. She says 'cause its good pants gone to ruin." She dusted off her hands on her thighs before she looked up at him.

"Captain Kirk is real, though, I seen him."

Kylo Ren had been about to tell Heather her grandmother was not here, so her pants had nothing to worry about, but he caught himself and held his tongue. Instead, he looked at her plainly before holding out his hand to take hers--she would not fall or slow down if she had something to tag onto.

"And where did you see this Captain last?"

His hand was so much bigger than hers, she was only able to hold on to a couple of fingers. But she did what she could! Holding hands kept each other safe! Even if there wasn't a street to cross.

"He was on the S.S Enterprise. In his chair." Heather was well informed, so she added a sharp nod.

"And is that location here?" Kylo asked in a voice that was somewhere between patronizing and attempting to make the girl think through her statements, rather than simply blurt out her oh-so-thoughtful speech.

"I don't know, I don't know where here is." If she where honest it all looked like a shopping mall. "I was with my Daddy so probably not here. Cause of the aleims." Heather resisted to roll her eyes up at him, because if she did and her Gramma saw it she'd get a smack. Cause he was an adult.

"Well, then I can tell you; he is not here." Kylo state as they walked through the halls and out of the shopping district to head back toward the Jedi end of the station.

"Do you need anything?" he asked as an afterthought.

Heather pouted a little bit, at that revelation. Captian Kirk wasn't there, Daddy wasn't there, Gramma wasn't there. All she had was her new friend. And her tennis shoes. And she followed that new friend without a second thought.

She gave him a look out of the corners of her eyes. "Can we have ice cream for supper?"

Ice cream for supper? That sounded a bit silly. Kylo Ren considered it and sighed softly, not sure what to say. On the one hand you were certainly not supposed to have ice cream first. On the other hand...was her childish health his job to look after? He had so many questions for Kytana already and he hoped Heather would be her normal self soon. Something bizarre seemed to be taking care of his girlfriend who was now a child.

Finally, he replied. "Sure."

That was enough to perk her up! A bright little smile showing off her gap-toothed smile. There was an upside to being kidnaped by aliens after all. But she knew she could compromise. Do something she was supposed to. Especially since he was being so nice.

"Okay, but I have ta take a nap first. Because Gram says I get cranky and start being a bad girl if I don't. And I don't wanna be a bad girl."

Kylo Ren paused in his steps to stop and look down at her. He sized her up. She was of napping age, too? Oh, this was growing more difficult by the second. How did Heather enjoy children and want to spend hours a day teaching them?

"Are you tired now?" he asked. "Do you need me to carry you?" The hand holding hers withdrew as he turned to kneel so she could crawl up into his arms for a lift.

Now that he mentioned it. She was tired. That's how she knew it was close to nap time. She rubbed her eyes. A touch of pitifulness entered her voice. "Yeah, we walked a long way. And getting kidnapped maked me sleepy."

Heather climbed into his arms and settled her head on his shoulder. She patted him softly. "You're pretty nice Kylo Ren."

"That's alright," Kylo said quietly in that deep voice of his as he took her up into his arms and stood once more. His walk was swift now that he did not need to be slow on her behalf.

"Thank you, child. You're the only one that thinks so." He spoke softly still, turning down one hall and into another before waiting for the elevator to go up to their main floor. One strong arm held Heather as the other took out his phone to text his Master.

Master. Heather has become a child. I am returning with her to our quarters. What do I do with a child?

Heather lightly petted his hair. "People can be mean sometimes. Mommy was." He was comfortable and it was getting harder and harder for her to keep her eyes open. A very large yawn was covered by tiny fingers.

"Kids sometimes know better than meany adults. We can tell when someone is good, and when someone is bad." Her little voice was getting quieter and quieter. Even though she fought going to sleep. She didn't want to be a wet potato sack.

"People are very cruel, yes," Kylo agreed as he shifted her in his arms and put the phone away to rub her back. "Just close your eyes, child. You're tired." He could carry two of her without feeling it badly, one sleeping kiddo would be fine. "We are almost home."
