The butterfly crawled over the table. It was all her doing. She had created it and for about a week she had managed to make it move.
"You need to observe reality closely. You are a sculpturer, my child. But you can only create what you know inside out. Hone your eye to take it every detail. You see it's movement is still unnatural." A second butterfly appeared next to hers and she watched it with interest. It's wings were a yellowish green instead of her own blue one. She had worked on a red version as well but it just never managed to be this vibrant. With a model to compare she could spot her errors. Her butterfly lacked the dynamic. It was too static.
Katherine watched her father's creation as it took off, flying over her head and the heavy leather sofas they were seated on. They were a rough material, not the smooth versions humans usually had. The study they were sitting in was a big room. Chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and a library of heavy books filling the shelves that surrounded them. They circled up over two stories and created a small labyrinth of the south side of the room. Marble arcs supported the ceiling. It was an imposing room.
