Who: Bohannon and Sookie
Where: Starting at his apartment
What: First date
When: Backdated to Friday
Rating: TBD
Open: Noooo
Status: On going

Bohannon rested his backend against the side of the couch. It was easier to wait for her knock there, than it would have been to take a seat and need to stand with haste. His cane within reach.

He had given himself a good while to get ready. Knowing from experience, even with help, it took time to spit shine. He'd trimmed his beard, not close, but so he didn't look like he could take on a bear. His hair was clean, the ends trimmed so they looked less frazzled. His boots were spit shined, his hat was even clean. He'd got out his sharpest blacks, and crispest white shirt. Even went to the extent of tying a black ribbon tie around his collar.

Bohannon pulled the shined up pocketwatch from it's place, and clicked it open. This wasn't his rodeo, but it sure as hell felt like it.

Sook had never been in the situation before of going to pick a guy up for a date. At home, it'd be considered the wrong thing for a woman to take a man out on a date, especially a first date. She thought though that this was the 21st century (to her at least) and that things were changing. Plus, she weren't about to get picky when she was a single mother on an island with precisely zero single men who'd date her. It had been difficult hiding the date from Adele but Sook was sure that if her daughter knew, she'd feel hurt and abandoned. She didn't know what was going to happen with Bo, but it was better to hide it from Delly until she was more certain of what she wanted.

So she got her hair curled a little and put on her favourite pastel yellow sundress and a soft cardigan too, comfy shoes and just a little perfume. Bo was a sweet man, very... honourable, loyal, and defintely a tough cookie. Swallowing her nerves, she knocked on the door to his new apartment and waited.

It took him a little longer than he'd wanted it to, as he hobbled over to the door, and opened it. He cursed his leg for still aching him, so many months after. He knew he should probably see someone about removing the bullet, sure that more than one hundred years later, that they should be capable of doing such things. He shook the thought off now, let a slow breath out, and opened the door.

Reaching up Bohannon removed his hat, as he gave her a none too shy once over. "Well, don't you look like a ray of sunshine on an otherwise dreary day." She was a picture in the yellow. "Would you like to come in for a minute?" It felt rude not to ask. And rude was not something he wanted to be right then.

He looked a lot better than when she had seen him last time, more robust and with more colour in his cheeks and meat on his bones. She liked it. He was a handsome man, and she couldn't deny that she'd always been attracted to older men since everyone her age was an immature asshole who only wanted one thing. Blushing a little at his praise, she stepped inside, "Thank you. You cleaned up really great, got a good colour on you too..."

Part of her felt guilty still, given that Elli was at home with Juliet and Adele was none the wiser. It was secret and covert, but God, it made it more interesting and exciting. "How are you liking living like a human being?"

"Well, you had just caught me right after finishing the road. And those last few miles were rough." Rougher than he wanted to admit just then. But he grinned at her. "Much obliged." He also didn't want to admit that most of his color probably came from just getting ready to see her. Hobbling around the apartment. Trying to decide whether or not to wear the brace that he'd made, or just go with the cane.

Bohannon chuckled softly. "I'm liking it. The big bath makes it easier to get clean. And takes the aches and pains out of old joints." Nearly old enough to be her father. If you didn't take actual birth year to thought. But he had liked them young. "Level floors are nice. Would you like some..." He had to think a moment, what did he have to offer? Tea? Whiskey? Coffee? "Some coffee?"

Sook played with her hands a little, a bit unsure about where to rest them. She was an adult, she had been on a lot of dates, so why was she so damn nervous about going out with Bohannon? "Well you look a lot better now. Healthier, I mean. It looks good, really does..." There were times she'd been worried about him being on his own when it was snowing or when there was weirdness going on.

"Coffee would be great, thanks," she replied, hoping it was okay to take a seat as she sat down in one of his chairs. His place was a reflection of the man, she though. Rough-hewn wood, bare decorations, handmade things. It was pretty colonial to her, but the smell was amazing. Leather and wood, things that would remind her of home and history.

"Not getting shot at is a good thing." Bohannon was mostly joking, he didn't want to worry her. But it wasn't as if he got hit very often. Not before he put a hole in whoever was doing the shooting. He could tell she was already nervous, there was no need to make it worse.

When she answered, he nobbled over to the kitchen. It was the one part of the apartment, aside from the spare bedrooms, that he hadn't changed. But he was strictly a french press sort of man. Setting his cane to one side he set to preparing the brew. "Ain't we done this before? Seems I can remember sitting at a table with you, from before." Maybe it was just a dream. Though this whole place had seemed like a dream when he'd found himself back in Cheyenne, Mormon's shooting up the place.

"Having been shot at a few times in my life, I can't say I disagree..." she chuckled a little, her nerves starting to abate a little bit. He looked a little wearier than she remembered too, like life had given him a giant kick in the pants. She was starting to rethink her plans on going for a walk in the woods, what with his cane. She didn't want to hurt him or anything.

Sook forgot sometimes that there was such a big gap of time between them both and that he probably didn't remember much of their time together before he disappeared. "Yeah, a few times. You said instant coffee was worse than drinking dirt so I made you iced tea instead.." she replied, smoothing out the skirt of her dress.

"There's only been a few times that I started the shooting first. You?" She didn't strike him as a guns and bullets sort of woman, but maybe he was wrong. She did strike him as someone with a strength that he could find back home. And maybe just as stubborn too.

Bohannon grinned at her when she repeated something he'd said. "Yeah, well, can't say I was wrong. Preroasted stuff is almost as bad. And I'm pretty sure that the instant is drinking dirt that the cattle got to first." Carefully he poured her up a mug, and, without the cane, he hobbled it over to her without spilling a drop, before he went to the fridge, to snag the sugar cubes, and cream. "And I'm pretty sure that flavored shit," He gave her an apologetic glance, before continuing on. "Ain't from a cow at all." He set the cream carafe within her reach, along with the sugar bowl.
