Sookie genuinely loved her entire family. She has a special closeness to Rhiannon. They were close in age growing up, and were the best of friends. There had been an adjustment when Rhi showed up older than her and with a kid, but they had been getting back into their special sister bond when the island took her away. She needed the rest of her family around for support, and she knew they'd need each other too. That was why she had suggested they get together. She'd put up pictures of Rhi, Harry and Drew around the house, and on the dining room table were three candles instead of a centerpiece. Maggie and Adele were in the kitchen, cooking up family favorites. Little Izzy was in the living room, curled up on the couch, cradling one of her stuffed toys. Sunila was there to offer support to those in need. Sookie paced around the house, checking everywhere people might be, including the pool, in case Cristiano showed up, and stopping to talk to anyone she saw.

The Pool--Open

[First! Woo!]

In case he showed up?! This was his family! These people, though they walked on two legs, breathed air, and lived upon the land...they were his family, now. By association with Juliet, perhaps, but soon they would be legitimate family through ceremonial bond when he and Juliet wed. But, that and the joyous news was for another time when they were not there to remember the lost.

Now, Cristiano hadn't spent much time with any of the three who had disappeared, but he was certainly glad to talk about them with others and listen to what they had to say. Grief was difficult. He appreciated someone listening to a silly story he had to tell when he lost his grandfather many years back. It was the little things that made everything else feel okay. So the merman swam up into the pool and after a deep breath of water hoist himself up to sit on the ledge. Cris was fine 'breathing' the air for about twenty minutes, thirty if he really had to push it, and with the pool there he could simply drop back in for a breath when needed. His tail, so massive with it's many blue toned fine with yellow streaks, flipped along the surface. When Sookie stopped in he smiled and waved, greeting her happily as he almost always did. He offered the same welcome to anyone that came down to the serene little pool.

Sookie waved back, but she couldn't work up one of her usual smiles. Even with everyone around, the house felt cold and empty. She was glad they were though. Every time she saw someone, it was a reminder that they were still here on the island, that she hadn't lost anyone else. Yet. It was hard to feel hopeful at the moment.

She walked over to the pool. "Hey. I'm glad you came. Is Juliet here too?" That was her her way of asking if her sister hadn't vanished since the last time she checked the list of names in her phone. She was tempted to ask everyone to wear tracking bracelets at all times.
