You know what's hard to figure out here. Public domain.

Like there's this many worlds smooshed together, some with their own content and others seemingly not. And then there's whatever is already in this little pocket realm and what... Do we wing it on the copyright terms? Are there even lawyers here to try and sue the crap out of an infringement? Can I plagiarise the Hungry Caterpillar to find out?

Anyway, in the absence of decent information to cover true crime without basically ripping off Ann Rule, apparently I'm writing children's books now.

My past self is laughing at me.

Mock all you want. Lockheed is the star.

Isn't it my job to mock? He'll love that though. Maybe it will perk his sulking up.

Apparently. It's a bit of an odd twist on our dynamic but I'll adjust.

Yes, that's the idea. We had to plan something last night when he was no invited to burn things down. I doubt Klara would be happy with him if all the plants were upset.

Do I need to ask why Lockheed is in a sulk?

Don't worry, John. That big brother crown is still yours. I should have Klara help me make you a paper one.

I was worried he might be a little fiery last night. He loves Klara enough to refrain from upsetting the greenery I think.

I mean it probably has nothing to do with the fact that his least favorite person in the world showed up yesterday and I went to drink with him.

You act like that would deter me from it.

Just a lot, like we're very lucky that I can play catch the fireball with him. Just saying.

Yeah, I don't see that being the problem at all. Although you might want to address that before someone gets BBQ'd.

Paper crown is happening.

Have you tried using his dragon fire yet!?

I'll address it as soon as he'll talk to me again.

Yes and we don't talk about that right now because there's a knack to it and I miss that hoodie.

Sometime next month then. Man, why am I in charge of people and dragons? Old Lace better not have some kind of melt down next.

Let me know when it's happening next time?! I want to see it

I can't speak for the people, but it's your own fault for making Lockheed love you so much.

Um, how about no? Lockheed is annoyed with you and shooting fire at me? I'm fire resistant, not impervious.

It's not hard to really get his affection; don't date assholes, feed him, let him play with fire?

I obviously meant sometime next month after he isn't annoyed with me anymore.

For the record. Past me dated the asshole. Present me just had drinks and a bit of a catch-up and didn't let him tag along.

Maybe. We'll see. Day by day.

Yeah, that's probably not as bad, but still bad in Lockheed fashion.

Do I at least get to read a rough draft of your new book?

He'll get over it eventually.

A very hungry caterpillar could absolutely be a ... very hungry preying mantis... that's more like adaptations.

Although it's less children's book.

Do ladybugs eat a lot? Damn I guess I need to look into entomology too.

I might as well plagiarise literally all the children's books, which gives be an absolutely viable reason to read them all.

I don't see any reason not to.

Suppose I could read them to the idiot dragon. See what ones he likes.

Factoring in dragons and dinosaurs is still a weird day by day concern to have, you know.

Definitely. Who doesn't love stories about semi-ridiculous dragons and their adventures in weird worlds?
