My sincere thanks to Ms Griffin for her assistance with this device. I do hope I'm using this properly now.

My name is Susan Pevensie, and I came by way of London. My brother Edmund and I both bid you all a good evening.

That's very kind of you.

Are you both settling in okay?

We're trying our best, at the moment. I think it's a little soon to say for sure.

I can understand that. I've only been here a few days, myself, and it's a lot to take in.

It's very different from home for me. What's yours like?

It's an entirely different country, and things aren't quite so...technical, I suppose, as they are here.

We have technology, but there's a lot here that's foreign to me, too. I think it will probably take time to adapt.

What is your home like?

[info]skyheda

That's a complicated question. I'm not sure where home is, anymore. In my time Earth had been irradiated three times. My people went in search of a new home when we realized our world would never be habitable again, but we hadn't gone down to the surface of the new world we found yet when I was brought here.

I'm sorry, but most of that doesn't make sense to me. What does irradiated mean? How can you go to a different world? Withou I No I am not

There are weapons that are so devastating, they can make the land they hit uninhabitable for decades, centuries, sometimes forever. My ancestors used them.

I grew up on a space stations - a kind of large ship in space. When I was almost 18, me and almost 100 others were sent back down to the planet's surface to see if it was safe for us to live there, yet, but humanity repeated it's mistakes about 5 years later and the planet is effectively dead for good. We were able to escape in another ship.

I know that must sound really unbelievable coming from your time, but in the future, my time, there are ships than can travel through space.

That sounds horrible, and something akin to what the Americans used in Japan a few years ago.

That all sounds like something from a book, and hard to picture; nevertheless, I am sorry for whatever ordeal you must have been forced to endure through that.

If I remember my history, the weapons are very similar.

It’s strange to be on what I assume is similar to how our world looked before all the destruction, but it’s nice. I intend to take advantage of my time here.

I don't see how any of us being here can be possible, either, but here we are. It seems like some people who have been here before do come back with their memories but others don't. I'm not sure why that is.

I've managed to turn on the television, but it doesn't have a dial. It's also rather flat. And the picture is far clearer than anything I've seen before.
