Hello Goodland! In the midst of all this Candy Landy madness, Tony and I managed to put our heads together and get some fun days picked out for March!

Now, without further ado...

I present to you Marvelous March aka Fun Days for March by Peter Parker and Tony Stark!

Marvelous Marchg aka Fun Days for March

March 1 -- National Get Over it Day
Okay this one probably sounds mean. It's annoying when someone's like, "Well just get over it," but this is more about little things and not big things you need to work through. Okay, well, the creator created it to help himself get over an ex, but the point remains. Some things take time, but for more trivial things, like someone cutting in line or a bodega being out of yoru favorite sandwich or a bad grade or an embarrassing moment, this is the day to say, "Get over it," to yourself. Basically, like Elsa says, let it go. Don't let it weigh you down. Get over it and use that energy for something you really want to do and don't sweat the small stuff.

March 4 -- National Plant A Flower Day
The name is self-explanatory! This is the day where you can plant flowers for the coming spring. Marigolds and daffodils are the flowers for this month, but you don't have to be limited by them. Just because it might still be cold out doesn't mean you can't take to indoor gardening, at lest to start. You can start with seeds or buy them alrady growing. Place them in a nice pot in a sunny window. Then, when the weather's nicer, move them outside! You can plant the flower alone or you can do some gardening with others. Maybe even get together to discuss a variety of flower options for the rooftop garden! And, if you've not got much of a green thumb, you can always visit any of the community and city gardens around the island and enjoy what's growing.

March 7 -- National Oreo Cookie Day
If you don't know what an Oreo is, might I suggest you use this day to find out? Because they're very good, and they come in a variety of flavors (though whether or not the flavors are good is mostly personal preference). And they taste great in many things! Like milk and ice cream and cake -- they even make Oreo cereal! So in 1912 Nabisco (then known as The National Biscuit Company -- Nabisco is less of a mouthful) developed the Oero biscuit in Chelsea in New York City. Oreo as a name was trademarked on March 14th (but that's a different day, which we'll get to shortly), and it's gone through a few name changes (like Oreo Sandwich and Oreo Creme Sandwich). This on'e's really easy to celebrate. You grab a pack of Oreos and eat them! Or you can dunk them in milk and then eat them. Or in ice cream or cake or even pie! Eat them whole or twist them apart and eat the filling first. However you do it, take a moment and enjoy a few Oreos.

March 10 -- National Let's Laugh Day
Laughter is a good thing. There've been studies done that show it can help relieve tension, help you relax, and even boost the immune system. Plus, who doesn't feel good after a long, hearty, side splitting, tea producing laugh? Today is the day to enjoy laughter. You can share jokes with each other, watch comedies, check out funny videos online (I will always suggest animals), or go to a comedy club, choose to laugh at a bad situation, or anything else that'll make you laugh.

March 14 -- National Pi Day
Happy 3.14 day! Happy π Day! This is just one of those really fun math days. The first three digits of Pi are 3.14 so it's fitting tht this day be celebrated today! You can celebrate this day by enjoying any type of dessert pie (including Oreo pie!), a pizza pie, or any other type of pie out there. You can also sport some Pi shirts if you're feeling particularly into showing your love of the this mathematical constant.

March 18 -- National Tolkien Reading Day
So J.R.R. Tolkien is best known for writing The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, though he's got lots of other works under his belt, too. His works aren't always for everyone, but this is the day to maybe give something of his a chance. (Or you can always watch the movies if you really don't want to read.)

March 22 -- Marching Music Day
So this day isn't just about music but marching music. It kind of makes me miss marching band. Basically just music on the move. This includes marching bands, drum lines, drum corps, and drill squads. You can celebrate by going to a local performance of a marching group or simply by looking up various marching music groups online!

March 25 -- National Cereal Day
This day is all about cereal! In 1854, a German immigrant by the name of Ferdinand Schumacher began the cereal revolution with his hand oats grinder in Ohio. In 1963, James Caleb Jackson invented the first breakfast cereal, Granula, in New York. Dr. John Harvey Kellogg exerpimented with granola and invented Cornflakes (which he patented in 1891 with the cereal launching in 1895). The rights for this would later be bought by his brother, William K. Kellogg. In 1989, Charles W. Post introduced Grape-nuts. Today, there's a wide variety of cereal (including Oreo cereal!). Today is the day to eat your favorite or try some new ones! Eat them with milk or dry. Whatever you prefer. And, if you're really feeling up to, see who pours the cereal in the bowl before the milk and who pours the milk in the bowl before the cereal.

March 28 -- National Dadgum That’s Good Day
All right so I had to look into this one a bit. I wasn't exactly sure what this day was about. Turns out it's about good good and good company! About eating something that's cooked and seasoned just right and makes you go "Dadgum that's good!" So basically get together with the people you care about, make some good food, and enjoy spending time together!

March 31 -- National Take A Walk In The Park Day
This day is exactly as it sounds. It's the day to take a nice walk in a park. You can let nature inspire you, let the walk clear your head, or just enjoy the scenery. You can walk alone or with a friend/loved one or with a group of people. If you want to power walk, you can, but this day is more about a nice, leisurely stroll through the park. And, if you're really feeling like it, bring a snack or a picnic lunch and enjoy a day at the park!

Hope eveyone enjoys Candy Land and March when it comes around! And if anyone has any days they'd like to see on a future calendar, let us know! Always happy to include fun and intresting days! :D

I like those days, too! I think all the days are going to be lots of fun if we want to make them that way! And definitely some silly ones. :D

I think it's fine for anyone about 8 or 9 and up. It isn't written in such a way that it's incomprehensible if you're not bigger or older, but it isn't written like a small kids book. I mean, he's got children's stories, too, but I'm thinking of The Hobbit and so forth right now honestly. Mostly because that's what most people think of when they think of his works. It's written in a way that makes it accessible to most people so long as you like fantasy or don't mind that he gets super wordy sometimes. The cartoon for The Hobbit is rated 7+ and The Lord of the Rings cartoon is 9+. You could check those out, and, if you like them or want to see how the books differ, go from there? (Although 9 out of 10 times I'll recommend reading the source before seeing the adaptation.)

Of course you aren't! I was just giving the bare minimum ages so you'd know you're definitely old enough. :D

It's about a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins who gets roped into going on an adventure with dwarves by a wizard named Gandalf. He's very happy not going on adventures, but he still manages to find himself being whisked into one. All to reclaim the dwarven treasure from the treasure hoarding dragon, Smaug.
