So I've been here a while now but I haven't really introduced myself. I'm not really what you would call an extrovert and admittedly I've been hiding out in the apartment I share with my sister and I figure now is probably as good a time as any to reach out.

My name's Luke, Luke Crain and I'm still just trying to wrap my head around the fact that none of this is another Red Room trick.

Red Room?

It was a room in the house I grew up in as a kid that was... well, Nell said it best, the stomach of a very hungry house that basically drew you in by giving you what it knew you wanted the most and fed off your emotions and your feelings until it consumed you.

Descriptive. Not a training program for assassins, then.

Well, figured it would better to give more detail than less or it's hard to understand.

Seems like a lot of people have that sort of history here.

Sounds about right. There tends to be a lot of groups of people who know each other, too.

That's fortunate for them. I mean, I have my sister so I can't really complain.

Hi Luke! I'm Daphne.

I don't think this is a trick at all, although it's understandable that you'd worry that.

From what you said about your house, that sounds creepy!

Hey Daphne, nice to meet you.

I think if I didn't I'd be worried.

Creepy is definitely one way of putting it. Traumatising is another.

The people who just take this in stride real quick are the ones to worry about for sure. :)

I've been in a lot of creepy old places, and yeah, I could see how growing up in one of them would be really hard. Especially when you're young and it's messing with your feelings.

Ha, glad to not be in that group.

Doesn't help when 99.9% of your family doesn't believe you.

That'd be a boring group to be in anyway.

Jinkies, not that would help anything at all. I'm so glad my friends are always supportive and we believe each other.

I feel like we should maybe start a tally on how many of us lived in creepy as fuck homes before this, although cold and uninviting would work as well.

You doing okay?

That many, huh?

It's surreal. I mean, I'm only a couple years into my recovery and if I hadn't been gifted my twin sister back? It definitely would have been enough to knock me off the wagon.

Not to sound flippant, but a house tends to lose its charm the minute someone dies in it, you know?

The dealers here are too expensive, rehab relentless, and hospitals unforgiving. Maybe it helps if you don't see dead pe

This place did the same. It's great. Definitely makes me question my sanity a whole lot less, having a real live boy to smother with love. So much love.

Oh, it does. More so if multiple people have died in it and they are still sticking around.

That's good to know.

I can sorta relate but I have my sister, twin sister to be exact. The same one I lost back home.

Or when you kill people as a misguided teenage superhero on daddy's orders and they follow you home. Ah, nothing like drugs or alcohol to tune them out.

Feels good, right?

Of course. I'm not sure it beats having three little grandmas following me around and telling me how to cook, fold laundry and make up the bed, but [...] no, no. Grandmas beat drugs.

Yeah. I hope she stays, man.

Even if it's not a Red Room trick, this place is some kind of trick given what all is possible here.

I'm trying to work out the Entity's angle because on one hand it's given me my sister back but then it set a bunch of villains on everybody.

I'm still going with bored, lonely child playing with dolls for friends. I'm glad it's given you your sister. It's both given and taken and given and taken some of family so, not to be a pessimist, enjoy it while you can. Just in case. In terms of the "villains" thing, maybe it was an older or younger sibling being jealous. They didn't want to share their toys so they decided to ruin the fun.

The entity, good or malevolent? I can't get a good read on them recent events considered.

Difficult to say. There were, allegedly, two at the same time recently. The good Entity appears to have won, though to what end -- I am uncertain.

I believe... either the Entity has good intentions albeit misguided, or something greater is at work.

Hard to prove the not-trickness of this place when everything would just feed into it.
