To anyone who doesn't want to or can't go out and fight but still wants to help, Ben and I are setting up a station of sorts in the conference room (centralized location, good defense capabilities), and I know we could use the help of anyone who wants or needs something to do. Even if all you want to do is donate some supplies, that's fine.

It's also a place for anyone who doesn't want to be alone or in their apartment. So even if you don't have anything to donate or aren't in the right place for it, you can still come and just be around other people.

As for supplies, things we'll (most likely) need include, but aren't limited to...

  • Food -- Can be snacks (granola bars, fruit snacks, crackers, as examples) or can be home cooked food (I'm thinking along the lines of casseroles and anything good for large crowds). Or anything you think could be good. Quick bites also a necessity for anyone coming and going quickly who needs a quick bite but doesn't want to stay and sit to eat. Along the same lines, crock pots are good. Even just donating them would be more than helpful.
  • Water and Juice -- Pretty much what it says. Cups and bottles of juice, jugs of water, bottles of water. Soda is fine, but I think water, juice, and even sports drinks might be better. But whatever you've got that's non-alcoholic works.
  • Plates, Cups, and Silverware -- You can't have food and water without something to eat it off of and drink it from.
  • Blankets, Towels, and Pillows -- To rest on and for comfort. And if anyone doesn't want to return to their apartments, they can hunker down in the conference room. Sleeping bags a plus but not necessary.
  • Pet Food -- I know people have pets, and we can probably set up a space for them to be safe with food and water and food for those who are going out but don't want their pets to be alone.
  • Books and Games -- Any books. Card games. Board games. Puzzles. Anything to help keep people occupied.
  • First Aid Kits -- Basic ones. Any serious injuries, please seek appropriate medical help. But basic first aid kits are good to have for the simple stuff.
  • Toiletries
  • Trash Bags
  • Paper Towels
  • Duct Tape
  • Flashlights, Batteries, Candles, Matches
  • Radio
  • Coolers and Storage -- For the food.
  • Ice -- Although I hesitate on this. This may be more useful if we designate a few kitchens to house just ice in their freezers. So if you can pare your freezer for ice, let me know.
  • Anything else people think of that can be useful.

I'll update and adjust the list as needed.

Right now, we're going to make sandwiches, if anyone wants to help with that.

Also, does this place have a generator or a back up generator if the power does go out? Or is that something someone can work on? Just to be safe?

[Vanya Hargreeves, Klaus Hargreeves, Ben Hargreeves, Dave Katz, and Darcy Lewis]

Would you want to help, too? I know I'd appreciate I'd like it And would Tia and Tony like to help as well?

Great. Grab whatever supplies you can spare from the above list. I can come help carry things to the conference room. Then we'll section the place off. You can also help with sandwiches/food (making, handing out, whichever), or, if you'd prefer, once the sections are up, you can direct people where to place things and where to go for different things.

Maybe bring an instrument of some kind for later if anyone wants a musical distraction?

Great. If you've got stuff you can bring, please do. If not, come help make sandwiches and bags of quick to grab and eat food.

I'm a pro at packing bagged lunches/meals. I'll also bring my laptop so if any kids needs Netflix to distract them they can watch under the table.

Perfect. We'll have a bunch ready to grab and go in no time. And that also sounds great. Maybe we can get some kind of television set up or projector set up on one side for that. Give them a little corner so to speak.

If we can't find one, I can always make one with some supplies. Projector I mean, not the television. I have no issues setting up an area for the kids.

Should we think about having a guard at the door? Not of the conference room, obviously, but the building itself. Or has someone already brought that idea up? Everyone and their mother is posting and it's like... information overload right now. My brain is like, not working at full power.

I think someone should. I'm not sure if anyone's already guarding the entrances to the building. Like you said, it's information overload right now. I've no clue where everyone is and where all the threats are. I also don't know what everyone's capable of to know who would be best where

Oh. Someone just posted on this post about Protective wards. That'll be helpful.

I guess the next step is figuring out who's not going out and who all is doing building security and if anyone can be spared for the conference room and the clinic and to patrol the floors for anyone who doesn't want to or can't leave. And seeing who's staying who can (or is willing to) fight if it comes to it.

From what I can tell, the city's being attacked. Some people are going out to defend the city. Some of us are staying here to help around the building and hold down the fort. If Dave and Klaus say it's okay, would you like to help us make sandwiches and set up comfortable places to rest and set up a space for board games?

It does sound scary. It's why we'll have people inside to help combat the scary part. Wonderful! I know Klaus is going to help, but as soon as you get the okay from him and Dave, we'll get you set up to help. Winky, too, if she'd like.

If you can find a well-suited closet or spare room I can charm it to be very warm and dry for anyone coming in from the rain.

And I'll see if Hugo can set up some protective wards. It wont be enough to stop most of them, we can't do that without also possibly locking out some of our own, but they'll let you know if anyone is coming.

I'm sure we can find something. I know there's a small study space, and, if nothing else, we can move the exercise equipment and repurpose that room for the time being.

Something's better than nothing. I don't know who all is going out and who all is staying or what everyone's capabilities are or if someone's set up any kind of security. But I do know something's better than nothing, even if it just buys time for an evacuation and reinforcements.

All right. And I know Vanya's got plans to focus on some hot food items like casseroles. I'll direct you toward her so she can let you know what she's making and where she stands with ingredients, recipes, oven space, etc.

I'm not sure if there's anyone doing so just yet, and I don't know if someone's set up anything in regards to security and watches for the building itself (outside or inside). That said, welcome aboard! Even if it's just for a little while.

If I hear of anyone needing help getting here, I'll let you know.
