July 9th | Susan Pevensie | Open
It is a strange thing to find oneself several decades in the future within the blink of an eye. A part of me is still expecting to wake up at any moment, despite the very compelling evidence I have received that this is really happening.

Ladies of Goodland, I would very much appreciate a catch up on the fashion of this century. I'm afraid my own tastes are suddenly woefully out of date.

If there is anyone who can advise me on how I might resume my university studies, I would appreciate it.

I still don't know how

Where are my manners? My name is Susan Pevensie. It's nice to meet all of you.

The NYU campus is here, so I can't help but to think you could look to see about enrolling there!

My brother tells me this is an entirely different world in addition to being a different century from the one I come from. I am wondering what that means for the course I've always completed or even for admission into university to begin with.

I have no idea how it works, but I'm sure you could go to admissions and ask. I don't see why they wouldn't have something in place for these things since there were already people here when I got here. I'm sure they have something for this situation!

I suppose it won't hurt to ask!

I should have asked that question. I appear to be at least a century behind for this world, and the climate is very different from England.

What is your focus? I had just completed my course of study when I was brought here.

Then perhaps we can catch up together!

I was studying literature at Oxford, just over a year away from finishing.

I would like that. This world is different from any I've known.

Oh, really? You must be exceptional. They have just begun to accept female scholars.

You're going to have a lot of narrowing down to do. Fashion really isn't very restrictive at the moment. There's some pretty common basic styles you can look into. (One I'll disagree with - 'exotic' and 'ethnic' should be avoided. When there have literally been laws against wearing your own traditional clothing the last thing you want to see is people treating it like a cute trend.) If you want to really overwhelm yourself try Pinterest, though browsing online clothes stores is a lot more manageable and you can actually buy things if you see something you like. Personally I tend to go for casual, sporty, girl next door, artsy and dressy styles, but it really depends on how I feel and what I have planned.

Oh, but the technology here is incredible! I feel this Pinterest is the kind of thing I could get lists in for hours!

The internet is practically infinite. You can use search engines like Duck Duck Go to find things, but learning how to tell which information is actually plausible takes practice.

My sister, Mary, wanted to go to school in California. It is really far away.

Hi! I am Freddy.

It's a pleasure to meet you, Freddy.

There's workout wear that is quite comfortable. It's a lovely step up from battle armor and robes.

I feel it made take me some time to shed my habit of wearing dresses and skirts most of the time.

It sounds like you must come from an interesting world.

I got used to a lack of robes relatively quickly, even in my world.

Hm. Filled with magic, war, elves, dwarves and more.

Hello, Susan! My name is Hannah, and if you like, I can take you to a few of my favourite places later on in the afternoon? I'd be happy to help.

I'm not sure how much of this $200 I should spend before finding a job, but I do think it would be lovely to do some window shopping with a new friend if you truly don't mind. Thank you, Hannah!

Of course, it's difficult to manage the $200 when it feels like there's so much you need.

I'm sure things are much more expensive here than what I am used to, too! But I do think it would be fun to look at what they have in the shops here, even if I am not able to buy much right away!

Hi and welcome, I'm Natasha. I like to look in thrift shops. You can find a lot of good stuff there that's in good shape, maybe even only worn once, sometimes not at all. It's also fun if you like vintage styles which I do. Mostly I stick to jeans and t-shirts or sweaters if it's cole. I dress up sometimes but if you want to look into some thrift shops, I'm happy to show you a few that I've found.

Hello Susan, I am Phryne. I find myself in much the same situation. I was going to go explore the town to see what fashion stores I could find. Would you like to join me?
