Would someone like to explain to me what in the heck is going on here? Kidnaps usually include ransom notes, not explanations from god-like entities!

My job is to make it look effortless. Unfortunately, he usually sees through it.

Good luck with that part! If there's one thing I can be grateful for it's that I didn't raise an idiot. If he sees through it at least he appreciates you.

I know he does. I try not to take him or that for granted.

Forgive me for getting mushy here, but you two are a good match. I know you know this and I'm deeply grateful my son has found you, Lydia.

Mush forgiven. Thanks for not thinking we're too young.

You're no younger than I was when I met Claudia. When you know, you know.

Sometimes I'm worried we're too young. When I think about the McCalls, or my own parents... Right now I know we could make anything work. We fight for each other. But they had to have thought that, too, at some point.

Are you going to let that worry scare you off? Because that's not the Lydia I know. When I think about the time I had with Claudia, I know it was worth it. Whatever came after the awesomeness... it was worth having the time we had and I'd choose to do the same thing again every time, given the chance.

You might not make it forever, but you're making it now. That's the part that matters, Lydia.

Of course I'm not going to let it scare me off. I know what we have now is special and incredible and I wouldn't walk away from it for anything, but that's part of the problem. Maybe it's silly, but I can't help but remember every screaming match my parents had for years. I don't want to be hurting him and not be able to walk away.

Good, cause I see the way you look at each other and to throw that away would be criminal. I might even have to arrest you for it myself!

Neither you or Stiles came from an ideal family background, Lydia. As much as you're worried you're going to have the problems your parents had, you know he's going to be worried about loosing you the way I lost his Mom. As long as you're aware of your issues and you talk about them, you're both going to be fine. And I'll always be here if you need help, you know that.

We've almost lost each other enough times for me to not be eager to go back there again. So you're saying the answer is just to talk to him. I didn't want to disrupt the now, but you might be on to something...

You both have so much to fear, but also so much to be grateful for. Concentrate on the good parts because they're the bits that matter the most.

Lydia, I know my kid comes across like a Labrador whose bounce you don't want to disrupt, but if he thought you were worrying he'd want you to talk to him. So talk. At least that way you know where you both stand.

I think I knew that, I just needed to hear it. Thanks... for this and just for everything. You've been more of a dad to me than my own dad—a dad to all of us. And I'm really happy you're here.

That's why we talk to one another, so we share ideas and feelings and don't feel so alone.

Thank you, Lydia. I don't quite know how to respond other than to tell you that knowing you has been one of the great pleasures of my life. I always wanted a big family and it wasn't on the cards, but with you guys... yeah. Pretty glad to be here too, even if it's going to take some getting used to.
