So this wouldn't be too different. I'm from Earth, as well. London, to be exact.

We're rebuilding after the war. There's still rationing, but it's getting better. I was about to go back to university. I study law. It's very different from here.

The fundamentals seem to be the same in most places I've been, but I believe it is based on American law here.
