I like looking at pictures of old empty places, and exploring them if they're close. But sometimes I wonder if that will happen to Wundagore. If people will talk about it on message boards and travel to visit it and take pictures of my mother's laboratory and my bedroom and the library and the hall where they would try to summon Mephichthon. Everything is still there. If I go back I should tear it down and bury it so deep in the mountain that everyone forgets it ever existed.

Your home is that terrible?

It's dangerous. There's lots of magic there, and the books and sacraments and things. People shouldn't go there.

Maybe they won't.

Maybe. But it might make me feel better I think it's too risky. People don't always believe stories that should warn them to stay away, or they think they can control things they can't.

My teacher back home always said you had to learn from history or we'll repeat it.

People learning from history is what I'm worried about.

You don't think people would learn not to repeat bad things?

Maybe some of them but there's a lot of people in the world and not all of them would.

I was trying to find out if there were any empty places here to explore. It just made me think of it.

You are concerned someone else will get their hands on it?

Sort of. There's a lot of bad things there unless someone's already taken them. But I'd do it even if they had. I don't like the idea of people taking photos of everything and putting it on the internet.

The internet does have a way of making one feel exposed. You know I'm partial to technology, but I can empathize. If the internet had been more prevalent in my hey day--

It doesn't really matter here at least.
