It's the start of Hispanic Heritage Month and I, Elizabeth Ortecho, am proud to be a Mexican-American woman. My parents risked everything to come to America as immigrants and Papi did everything he could make sure my sister and I had a good life here. We grew up speaking more Spanish than English, learning to make authentic Mexican dishes, listening to Latino music, and stories about the old country. Being Mexican is such strong part of my identity and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I come from Mexico too but my parents didn't I think they're dead but I don't remember what happened to them I just got brought here by people smugglers and then I met Kaine and we lived in a hotel in Houston and fight bad guys!

Oh everyone says I talk a lot but I just think the way they have conversations is really slow especially since they can't read minds so it takes forever to find out if there's something interesting to talk about and it makes a lot more sense to say everything at the start so you don't have to talk about boring things.
