I've been quieter than usual on here recently, been busy ~~and not feeling~~ ~~and having a rough time~~. For new people - I'm Sam Wilson, I run the clinic on the ground floor, but I'm usually more of a biologist with a specialty in cybernetics and nanotechnology, which is a fancy way of saying I'm interested in finding ways to use technology to improve the body. I was one of the first people here back on June 15.

Housekeeping note: We lost our psych specialist in that purge, or whatever it was. Anyone who got prescriptions from him, I'm happy to keep them going, but beyond that... keep your fingers crossed for another one to turn up? Sorry. No good solutions, I know.

Right now people are hurting, and other people are feeling helpless or awkward or not sure what they're supposed to be doing. If you're someone who feels better just curling up alone and hiding until you feel a little better don't be ashamed to do that. If you'd rather have a distraction and be around people I'm going to put up a projector on the roof on Saturday for a movie marathon and food while the weather's still good. I'm still catching up on the last 10-15 years of movies so I'm sure it will be an exciting journey through whatever looks interesting on imdb.com.

	I talked to Dad about this already, but I didn't want to bother you while you've been busy. Would it be possible to schedule an appointment for me to come to the clinic? I had a prescription for sleep aids back home and was hoping I wouldn't need them here, but unfortunately, that isn't the case. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	I hope your other projects are going well. Zolpidem. It was sort of a last resort, and I had only been taking it for a couple of months before coming here. My doctor had me try natural sleep aids prior to that prescription, but none of them helped with the insomnia. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Benzos aren't great long term because of the tolerance, but there's not much that's any better anyway. It doesn't look like the FDA's approved much in the way of orexin receptor antagonists here. Which part do you have more trouble with, falling asleep or staying asleep? Or both? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I'd rather not have to take anything, but unless someone can wave a magic wand and make everything all better? That's not a realistic option. It is both, but falling asleep is the bigger problem. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I'm not sure even Hannah's healing works that way. We haven't compared treatments for chronic conditions much. Though that might be the case, it's what benzos are best at. I might see if I can find a better longterm solution, but zolpidem's fine in the meantime. How were the side effects? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

I appreciate you looking into a better longterm solution. I had a bit of daytime drowsiness at first, and the dreams were pretty vivid. At first I thought I had been sleepwalking upon waking, but that theory was debunked by the video surveillance I set up. So it was just vivid dreams. Dry mouth, and the occasional sore throat.

	It's something I would have preferred to work on rather than making weapons. It's ridiculous how little we know about how the body actually works. Nothing too concerning then. Tell me if any of that changes. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
