People are getting nervous about all the threats flying around. Someone asked me about building something to withstand special powers or, to summarize, something superheroes can't destroy. Fair enough, I'd say. I was able to build jewelry to absorb most of someone's abilities and I had a protocol for an armored shield everyone said we didn't need that could envelope earth in my reality. Considering our various realities and experiences with different powers, I'd say we could come up with something, no?

It was too much. I know it was too much. Do you think he hated it and is too nice to tell me? Did I overstep?

So it may come down to how you built the jewelry and determining how to adjust that to what all it may need to do.

Solar panels. They can go everywhere, and they're quite innocuous to look at. Clearly they are not normal solar panels, but they can cover more area than one singular structure.

The panels seem to be winning.

I do believe the sensitivity of these hypothetical panels should be low. That is to say, they shouldn’t react to every instance of someone with an ability using an ability. Some are likely innocuous, while others used on a small scale aren’t threatening. There is quite a different between dimming a light in a room and turning off the power to the entire house. Additionally, some may be so entwined with their ability that being able to shut even the smallest instance off is the same as cutting off a limb because of a scratch that only needed a bandaid. Additionally I do not believe it is something that is constantly on but activated. I also believe there should be some level of transparency, if the reactions I’ve read about organizations from various worlds are any indication of how people may react to suddenly discovering their abilities have been dampened without prior knowledge. A case of good intentions, I suppose. And it may help to ensure this protection system is used in the best way possible and help hold it and those behind it accountable. It would also allow for adjustments if needed.

I will say it has the potential to be a cage, and I do not wish it to turn into one. I do not believe it is your intention, but I believe I must express my concerns over it nonetheless. I know what it is to feel powerless, to be caged, and I do not wish that on anyone. I’ve also seen how trapping someone in any kind of cage can be disastrous and do not want any type of repeat to happen here. I understand you have family here, as do I, so I imagine we are of a similar mindset in wanting to ensure the safety of this place for everyone but especially those we care for most.
