I am a man of many talents.

I don’t have words Disney is an understandable distraction. And it’s a really good playlist. This stuff is also distracting, but not in a pleasant way. A playlist sounds like a better distraction than this weight of misery and dread. I actually tried to make one the other night when I couldn’t sleep. I got distracted by listening to things with no real connection. I enjoyed it.

I bet you are.

Thank you! But yeah. Andersen said that "Music speaks where words fail." I think he was talking about Jenny Lind, but still. That almost makes it better. I'd love to hear what you come up with, though, when you finish yours.

Maybe I’ll show you some of my talents some time.

You’re welcome. That is a very good way of putting it. I agree with him. Hans Christian Andersen or someone else? I would love to share it with you when I do manage to create it. I do ask you to be gentle. I’ve never done this, and there seems to be a bit of an art to it that I may not possess like you do.

I'm putting fair odds on guns.

That's the one! He was madly in love with Jenny Lind. He wrote the Nightengale for her. I think it's my second favorite piece of his after The Little Mermaid. He also carried on an affair with a French transman and was buried next to his male lover. And rumor has it he was romantically linked to Jacob Grimm as well. He's fascinating.

But I'm sure that you'll do wonderfully. I have complete faith in you.

Luther has his strength. Diego has his knives. I have whatever's available, and, sometimes, that's guns. But I see through you. You just want to know if I can field strip a gun blinded, and, if I can, how fast.

Le chant du rossignol. What is it about both that appeal to you? His heart got around, but it sounds like he was capable of quite a lot of love.

I appreciate your faith in my playlist making abilities.

You're right, I do. And if you can, I want to see it.

Stravinsky. I've seen that ballet. It's up there with the Nutcracker. But I could write paragraphs on the trans allegory of the Little Mermaid and how 19th-century European Christianity fed into the repressive sexual nature of the narrative and how being raised by a pastor and also being on the trans spectrum made it an eye-opening read as a child. As for the Nightengale... The Emperor has the most beautiful thing in the kingdom, the Nightengale, and he loses interest in it for a bejeweled mechanical facsimile of the real thing. It's prettier, yes, but it only breaks down with time. And, in the end, it's the less pretty but ultimately more devout true Nightengale that rescues the Emperor from death. I suppose I identify with the Nightengale.

I'll show you some time.

I haven't seen it, but I've heard the music. I like it. And, should you decide to sit down to write those paragraphs, I'd like to read them.

Save a lot of emperors from death?

Looking forward to it!

I'm sure you'll hear about it sometime. But, no, no emperors. Just Emma.
