Sleeping pills are a crapshoot. I went through four different ones before finding ones that almost sometimes work and even then it's an off-label use. Have you talked to Sam about it? He's not a psychiatrist, but maybe? I'll see if I can pull anything out of my old therapy notes that might help too. I know it's not the same at all, but there's no harm in trying, right?

So, there's this psychologist here, Doctor Crane. I might talk to him. And my last therapist recommended making this anxiety box thing and I've been thinking of remaking the one I had at home, so the second this clears up we'll go shopping for stuff together, yeah? We'll both make one. It's silly, but it's weirdly helpful.

You take care of your foot, babe. I've fought serial killers, I can handle myself. And I'll come see you the second I get back.

I didn't know you could either? But that's... a thing? Cool? Is it cool?

He's a pretty good one, too. An anxiety box is a collection of things that make you feel chill. Mine had a journal, chocolate, citrus-mint tea, an eye mask, fine-point markers, a poetry book, a bottle of bubbles (good for controlling your breathing), roll-on essential oils, and my favorite stuffed unicorn in it. I circulated face masks and lotion and things like that in and out of it, but I have a list of things that you can put in them.

Look out for yourself first. I still have a couple more hours on my shift. And I can ask my manager to walk me back too, if I need to. But I'll never deny you the chance to be a gentleman if you really want to be. I just don't want you to hurt yourself worse.

Demand it. Tell them accessorizing it paramount to your ability to heal. They let children choose their cast colors they should let everyone else too, it's only fair. And I happen to know they have black.

You really are the best, though. I want you to know that. Thank you for doing this for me. You don't have to, but you are. So few people give you credit for being as thoughtful and full of love as you are and I think they ought to. You've been such a stable presence for me here and I don't know why I'm getting emotional at you right now but I had to tell you.

No strange encounters yet, but there's this thick, oppressive air just hanging around, making me feel like I want to claw my skin off. I believe the professionals call it anxiety. Are things holding together alright over there? As alright as can be expected, anyway?
