While I'm sure near endless hot water and more bathrooms are very welcome, I do find I'm more pleased with the space again.

A hundred odd people on a cramped space station wasn't my idea of fun. No matter how much Selenite enjoyed off world.

[ LIZZIE ]

How is your mid-century gothic style knowledge?

Before our trip into space, my cave expanded. It might be worth... sprucing it up.

This space is preferable.

Are our scenery changes ever your idea of fun?

This is the only type of space I'd want.

Only when it gets dark.

I couldn't agree more- perhaps on both accounts.

Although I do not believe a lot of the others would share our feelings on the matter.

They rarely do share our opinions or feelings on anything.

How very true.

Naturally, we're beside ourselves with upset.

At the very least we'd have no bad reviews, because they would perish before they left one.

Apparently I like to be challenging?

It's probably less than you'd be used to. Some decor and what not. In case I have I doubt there's a television that would be mid-century gothic, but I could overlook that.

We can disguise the television.

Fake drawbridge.

Or not. I'm definitely not a designer.

It reminded me a lot of the school dorms only with a much different outside view.

Or group homes.

The view might've been something, but the accommodation needed a rethink.

The view was kind of incredible, but I agree.

I was only here for a few days before the change into space, but from what I've heard, this sort of thing happens more often than one would think.

It does. Although that was the first time the hotel changed.

We were at a ... summer camp once. Which was log cabins or something. But usually we're not that cramped.

At least that change isn't something that happens too often.

Summer camp. I can't decide if that sounds like a lot of fun or a nightmare.

Often enough it keeps things from stagnating. Too often to really get a foot hold on what's going on.

Nightmare. It was a complete nightmare.

Do you have a favorite place that it's changed into?

I could see it being that especially if it's not by choice to be there. Much of the activity likely happened during the day too.

Not particularly. They're usually a bit... busy for my tastes.

Summer camp was in the wilderness. With trees and sunshine and... activities. Basically Hell.

Being stuck in New York City probably hasn't been your dream vacation either then.

Wilderness doesn't sound so bad as long as getting away from the activities was an option. Sometimes the quiet can be nice.

I was in New York for a spell, the real one. So the fewer people here isn't as bad, but I do slip away a fair amount.

Quiet, yes. Summer camp, no. ... There were uniforms.

I used to do that too sometimes when I came back to school and felt I needed some space. There was an old church on campus that people didn't know about. Mostly, anyway.

Glad I missed it then. I never want to have to wear one of those again.

... I have a cave. It's... like catacombs really. It's just a get a breather spot.

They really didn't go with my aesthetic.

A cave? That's, well, I admit that I've never spent much time in... those, but it's nice that you have a spot you can go to have some space to yourself. The church attic was that for me too.

It had a purpose, for a while, but then it just became about solitude. Save for the few times it's been home to friends during... a crisis.

I've heard rumblings about those crises. I think I might prefer the cramped quarters in space.

If the Entity is taking requests, I vote for Cybertron. Or the one with the rings -- Saturn.

No clue, but some old cartoon or movie or something once taught me that you could ice skate on Saturn's rings, and I choose to believe that's true.

[info]theurgy
2021-03-12 03:15 am UTC (link)
If it's likely to be true anywhere, it's here. That's for sure.

What if one of them broke, though? Would you just... fall through space?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]newlittlehelper

Maybe you could wear a jet pack or whatever, so if one did break, you'd fly around like a mini rocketman.

[info]theurgy

Why not just float through space then? Isn't that cooler than ice skating on a ring?
