[ MORGAN ]

I need your help.

Fair warning it might involve lobotomising my dad.

Well, dad is contemplating letting Sam poke in his brain experimentally since it's not healed enough.

Joan did another MRI and the swelling hasn't decreased terribly significantly. Of course going to space maybe didn't help.

Oh. Right. Okay...so we have reached lobotomy threat levels.

Of course, it didn't help. Jesus fucking Christ, Nate.

Right!? Like Sam's fine, cool, whatever. But he's not a brain doctor and I have it on good authority that brains are delicate.

So, how do you restrain a train assassin? I mean, I have a slight edge since he's blind and likely will not actually murder me with his hands, but it's still iffy.

Factor in the whole 'experimental' part and...well it's really fucking hard to believe Clint is even considering it?

I'm not loving your odds here. Not that I think he would go all murder hands with you, but maybe you don't try to physically restrain him? We could put him in your bubble? But that could still go badly.

This place can bring people back from the dead, send us a million different places, invade our personal space and agency with shit...there's got to be something that can fix this.

...wait...

You've met my dad, right? It's been like two weeks of blindness and relying on people. I've heard him swear more in the last two weeks than in the entirety of my life.

Many coffee mugs have been sacrificed this week.

My bubble would die, and I'm not ready to give that up yet.

I am waiting with bated breath here Morgs.

Why did he have to go and take it out on the coffee? But alright yeah. That sounds about right. He's reaching the end of his rope.

Like I couldn't get you another magic bubble.

But that is irrelevant. Sort of. Magic, Nate. Not Emma or her judgy friend with the White Walker...but there may be someone else? Someone with less dark and twisty and more bright and earthy. It's magic I don't know the fucking terms...but do you think he'd go for it? If he's already tossing around the idea of experimental brain shit?

Well there wasn't any coffee in the mugs, because that would really be a sign that dad had flipped.

I know, but I'm really conscious of your slightly psychotic friend wondering why I need a new bubble.

I'm almost certain, if he's thinking about experimental brain surgery by a confirmed mad scientist, we can talk him into giving magic a whack before we go to brain matter tinkering.

Provided we avoid the L word.

At least we know we haven't quite reached that point yet.

I think she likes you or maybe it's just 'tolerates'...which for Emma? Is as good as her saying she likes you.

We definitely can. Alright. I'll call in a favor with my weird ex-vampire uncle. That is a sentence I never thought I would write. What the fuck is my life now?

Right. Check. No L word.

The day he wastes coffee we'll have him committed.

Am I like a mascot? Feels like I'm a mascot? I'm okay with it, just saying. But it's like I'm an amusing pet.

Around here the sentences get weirder and weirder, and we just need to deal. I have ice cream for if this is an utter failure, and we can pick a spot to watch dad destroy the place.

This might be his villain origin story.

Well, now that you say it like that it sounds like a mascot thing?

I think we've dealt pretty well so far...all things considered. But I'll take ice cream and a show if this doesn't work.

Then we'd just all have to be villains.

I mean it feels like a mascot thing.

Sure, we've dealt. I think we've only had a breakdown when it's been logical to do so.

It's worrying how easily you, Lila, Dad and Nat could shift to 'evil overlord', okay. Your BFF is already exactly the part.
