Log: Angelus & Joan Watson
Who: Angelus & Joan Watson (+ open for additional)
What: An evil vampire doing evil vampire things
Where: Around the city somewhere
When: Today/late afternoon
Warnings: Violence, possible inappropriate chatter from a psycho, character "death" (Note- see here for additional info)

Angelus never realized how bored he could get when all of his toys weren't around for him to break apart and put back together. There were some fun ones around, but not all of them, and most were sticking close to one another after he took the kid out for a nice afternoon at the park. If this was going to be the extent of the reaction, he might as well have eaten and left him for others to find. At least he would have gotten a nice meal for his trouble.

Speaking of meals, he'd had a couple snacks on those that resided in the villa, but for the most part his victims had been nobody townies that were clueless about the oddities of this place even when they had a deadly vampire staring them in the face. The theme parks had been interesting for a while, but when you see one abandoned ride or a side attraction that had been left by itself to mutate a little too long, you'd seen them all. The monotony of the city was nearly driving him mad, and Angelus longed for a good old-fashioned apocalypse. Where was a doomsday prophecy when he needed one?

After the city had gone back to normal, he noticed how easily the residents seemed to also go back to normal. There hadn't been much information spread about Angel's lack of soul and evil body double on the loose, so he could only assume that most didn't have a clue what was going on. There were a few bumps in the night done Goodland style, but no true threats had popped up since those monsters invaded the streets. Now even he could admit that had been a good time. Fighting and bashing heads. Angel the boy wonder had enjoyed it more than he'd admitted to anyone, but the concern he'd had for others when they were injured made Angelus want to dry heave just thinking about it.

It wasn't needed thanks to the ring on his finger, but Angelus still kept the shadows across the way from the villa and watched people going in and out on their merry ways, barely checking their surroundings to even bother looking both ways when crossing the street. Mindless idiots but ones that could be useful. Plus, he was hungry for a proper meal and not the random locals he'd dined off of lately.

Angelus spotted someone as they exited the building and figured they were as good as anyone else for a snack. He ducked his head as he passed the villa and walked on the opposite side of the street for a block or so until they were far enough away that no one else should recognize him. He smiled to himself once they crossed the street and stopped inside a shop. Angelus came out of his own spot in the shadows and followed suit, stepping inside the shop and gave the appearance of browsing around while keeping an eye on his target.

He picked up a shirt and positioned himself nearby only to let out an audible sigh, holding up the shirt. "It's impossible to know what to buy, isn't it?" He said casually, smiling a bit in their direction. "My girlfriend. We had a bit of a fight the last time we saw each other, over something so stupid, and I thought I'd try to make it up to her when I go back to apologize."

"Very subjective. Sometimes I don't understand these newer 'tends,'" he said in a disgustingly Angel sort of way and added in a pair of air quotes for the hell of it. "I tend to stick to a similar look." The statement was true for either version of the vampire but with a handful of distinct differences if paying close attention.

"Perfect. We'll walk over to say hello together." As much fun as showing up at Damon and Elena's doorstep with one their friends would be, Angelus had no intention of making it to the apartment. Or to the Villa at all. Once they were clear of the shop, he planned to veer off on his own detour.

"After coming here. We had mutual friends to introduce us not long after I showed up. They had been here a while already." He started towards the front of the door, intending to pay for the apology dress though he'd yet to decide what he was going to do with it. Toss it on the way back, send to Buff in a pretty little care package, or hey maybe he'd leave it for Joan later to see if she wanted it.

"Have you known them for long?" He asked once he'd finished paying.

"I used to care more." Joan's wardrobe at home was a mix of her more sophisticated looks, mixed with her more casual or daily looks, and then her mom style, which allowed her to really muck in with Arthur, playing in the yard or going to the park, not worrying about staining any of the couture that she had in her wardrobe.

Waiting as Wesley paid, Joan took in just how he met Elena and Damon, nodding slightly, "I was here a while before, I helped out a little with the clinic and what have you, and during the early stages of Elena's pregnancy." It felt odd to her, how she managed to leave and come back, not remember Goodland while she was home but have full awareness of her previous stay when she returned. "When I returned, we just slotted back into things." Especially once their sons became fast friends.

"I think, maybe, all together, it's been almost a year?" Long enough to consider them both good friends. "I think friendships here mean a little more, right?" They were so potentially fleeting, but also entirely impossible anywhere else.

Stepping out onto the street, Joan dropped her sunglasses back over her face, although the sun wasn't as blinding.

"You were here once before and came back with those memories?" There weren't many people that happened to as far as Angelus was aware. People came and went all the time, but few retained the memories of being here the first time around. Or the second, third, or fourth in some cases. "It seems someone really wants you to stick around," he said. Lucky for him, in that case.

On one hand, Angelus didn't really give a shit how much more the relationships he had with people here did or didn't matter more or less, but he did enjoy the change of pace. Different people from different places he never would have met otherwise. As much fun as some at home could be, it was the same song and dance, and they knew him and his tricks far too well. Buffy knew them plenty, but this time she knew she might be able to find a way to ensoul him again. She wasn't going for the kill.

"You're right. My girlfriend and I, we come from the same world but we couldn't make things work there. I'd moved away not long before showing up here. But now? Now I just want to hold on so tight." As tight as he could until she crushed from the pressure.

As many time as he'd walked into the sun with the spelled ring on his finger, Angelus was still surprised sometimes as the brightness. He squinted but his eyes adjusted soon enough that he didn't bother with shades. They walked down the street a block or so and away from the handful of people that had congregated by the corner.

He gave a quick glance around and nodded to a side street to the left. "Let's try this way if you don't mind. It's not the most direct way back to the Villa, but it takes us around to a back entrance that avoids the ostriches. They're kinda creepy, aren't they?"
