Dear Diary,

Today he actually smiled at me. Severus Snape smiled at me. At no one else, just at me, Remus Lupin. I know this sounds pathetic and that James and Sirius will never understand, but I like Severus. And I think, and I really really hope that he might actually like me back. I hope that he once more smiles at me tomorrow, and that this wasn’t some kind of fluke. And tomorrow I’ll smile back, I’ll show him that I am interested and that this isn’t just some kind of fluke.

I… damn, Sirius is calling.
