Summary: Ron tries to atone

Ron was pacing around the lounge and his eyes kept darting from the clock over the mantle to the door. His shoulders were slightly hunched, body tensed and waiting for the sounds of their arrival.

He'd spent the day with Leila, taking her to the park, then for ice cream, before dropping her at the Burrow. Much as he hated to be away from her now that he was back in his right mind, he didn't want her clever little ears overhearing what was said tonight. She'd had enough upheaval in her young life. She didn't need to hear the conversation her parents would have tonight.

	He made his slow and careful way to the front foyer and greeted her with a soft smile. "Welcome home," he said, already reaching out to take her coat and bag from her to hang them on the peg. "I'm with you on that one." He slipped his hand into hers and led them in towards the lounge.

"Day was good. Took Leila to the park, and for ice cream afterwards, then spent a bit of time at the Burrow letting Mum fuss over me. Leila's there now, having a sleep over with her Grandmum."

He sat down, his back to the arm of the sofa, and patted the cushion next to him. "Thought it might be best if she wasn't home tonight."

	Hermione went cold as Ron led her to the sofa. "I'm glad you let Molly spoil you. I - " I've been trying to find out what happened to you. Why it took so long, and what comes next.
