WHO: Peter and Pyro
WHEN: Today
WHERE: Around town
WHAT: A meeting of minds? Well one at least.

Town after Vegas was ... well not all that different really, even Peter could admit that. And despite knowing that things felt a little different, or maybe it was just him. The realization that he still had it in him to be a spectacular idiot even when he felt like he'd grown past those parts of himself and his life. But you know at least he knew now and he could grow from here. And that was what he'd been working on since Vegas, things at Pancho's might have been a little weird, it was hard to say really but Peter was doing his best not to try and focus on that too much and telling himself it was all fine.

And outside Pancho's? Well things seemed quiet, maybe they'd all just needed to chill after the insanity of both Vegas and an alien attack. And the heat had broken so you know that was a pretty great too, and it was kind of nice to just be able to just breathe again and not feel like you were suffocating.

With things so quiet though he didn't mind spending a little time during the day just wandering, making the rounds. Which was when he saw Pyro, or was it John, he didn't really know the guy very well but he'd heard that he and Claire were becoming friends so the least he could do was say hi. Which was exactly what he did.

"Hey," he lifted a hand in greeting, with a grin on his face. "How's your day going?"

Spider Douche, that was new. So it was safe to say that Claire and John had talked about everything that had happened and John was going to hold a grudge for Claire's sake. Still rather than just keep on walking the way so much of him told him he should, Peter kept the grin on his face and shook his head. "I prefer Spider-Creep actually." He said it with as much lightheartedness as he could manage.

And then John asked about his wife and he exhaled, feeling himself deflate a bit at the question and what John must think of him. It shouldn't be important really, he didn't actually know John, as much as he kind of hoped that maybe he could get to know him, because sometimes you just had to - and in a place this small it kind of felt like you had to get to know most of the people here, especially when they were friends with the girl you were stupid over.

"I think you've got me confused with someone else, I'm not married." He said as calmly as he could manage, the thing with Carol had been a mistake obviously, they both knew it, but it had been taken care of too - he wasn't married and he wasn't about to let himself be pulled into a fight about it either, not after he'd already talked things out with Claire.

"Someone swinging around and looking in windows then." John muttered annoyingly. "Only reason to call you creep after all. Are you a creeper SD?" Yeah, Spider-Douche wasn't going to just go away at this rate. After all he was a douche.

That exhale had him knowing he hit that rough note. The one that needed to be exposed more. Hammered a little harder, not for himself, but his friend. Claire didn't deserve it. Not that he was going to play her white knight, but John just wasn't turning a blind eye. Just wasn't in it for Pyro.

"Nope. I am certain that," He pointed at him again. "You... you married Carol." He nodded. "Yup. You married her. It's super cute." He lied, with his eyes peeled on him and his reactions. "Other than someone who marries another person's girl, while hurting your own, I never pegged you to be a liar too." John challenged hard. "You're right." He commented. "Spider-Douche doesn't fit." He held his hands up in surrender.

"More like Spider-Liar."

Peter had to pause and raise an eyebrow at John when he started muttering about being a creeper peering into windows. "You'll have to talk to Claire about the Spider Creep name, she came up with it." Was just about all he was going to say about that, it didn't seem like the worst thing ever when she said it - mostly because he knew her and though the word might have been harsh he knew her meaning wasn't that.

He shook his head when John doubled down rather than taking the out that Peter had allowed him in all of this, he wasn't about to fight about this he didn't know John well enough for that and well he had a feeling Claire wouldn't be all that impressed if he got into a fight with him either. And honestly his own honor wasn't important enough to get into a fight with a guy who was effectively a stranger either. So yeah. That's where Peter as about all of this.

"Like I said, I'm not married." Peter said shrugging, as John insisted again that he was married, and not only that but a liar as well. "You can think what you like, but all I can say is that I'm not married to Carol or any one else at the moment." No what had happened with Carol was a mistake, but one they'd taken care of before making it back to town and it wasn't like he'd married anyone else in the days since.

"Hey, it was really great meeting you, dude. I think I'm just gonna go." Because Peter could withstand a lot, it was kind of his thing, you got back up again no matter how much you'd been hit. But sometimes walking away was a good option too. And in this moment? Well that seemed like exactly the thing he should be doing. "Stop in for a pizza sometime."
