Spider Douche, that was new. So it was safe to say that Claire and John had talked about everything that had happened and John was going to hold a grudge for Claire's sake. Still rather than just keep on walking the way so much of him told him he should, Peter kept the grin on his face and shook his head. "I prefer Spider-Creep actually." He said it with as much lightheartedness as he could manage.
And then John asked about his wife and he exhaled, feeling himself deflate a bit at the question and what John must think of him. It shouldn't be important really, he didn't actually know John, as much as he kind of hoped that maybe he could get to know him, because sometimes you just had to - and in a place this small it kind of felt like you had to get to know most of the people here, especially when they were friends with the girl you were stupid over.
"I think you've got me confused with someone else, I'm not married." He said as calmly as he could manage, the thing with Carol had been a mistake obviously, they both knew it, but it had been taken care of too - he wasn't married and he wasn't about to let himself be pulled into a fight about it either, not after he'd already talked things out with Claire.
