Who: You! If you wanna be there!
What: Their Vegas trip turns into an Alien Attack!
Where: Las Vegas, Alternate dimension of some sort.

Peter had one hell of a hang over, and the details of the night before were more than a little bit foggy. The details of which would no doubt start filtering back to him slowly over time. But as he looked out on the early morning sunrise over the strip he frowned looking out over the horizon.

There were lights, and not just the Vegas lights, not the neon of casinos and spot lights encouraging people to come out and spend their nights and days throwing away their money, but hovering lights, that were rapidly approaching. But even that wasn't enough to really clue him in - not until the first laser beam shot out of one of the ships (they were ships!) and blasted the replica Eiffel Tower did Peter get it.

They were under attack, here of all places. Hung over and not at all dressed for the occasion. This was his punishment he thought, for what he and Carol had gotten up to since their arrival.

"Come on! Move move move!" Peter was already moving, he might not have the suit and well he might not be from here but he wasn't about to let people get hurt.

[OOC Note: Okay, this is being run as a standard party thread, just use your headers in whatever threads you start, feel free to punch an alien or run and hide, save the princess, or steal in the middle of the chaos, whatever your little heart desires. And most of all have fun!]

Kitty rolled her eyes when John came back wearing those sunglasses he'd picked out the night before. But she smiled all the same. "Can't forget the important stuff." She shook her head at him. "Come on, let's get out of here and on the street.

"Well if we'd known we were going to have to deal with an alien attack I think we would have been sure to bring it with us." She shrugged, but as it was, it all came as a bit of a surprise that none of them had anticipated, so they were all going to have to deal with it with what they had. "Next time we get to go to Vegas we'll be sure to bring it."

Thankfully they didn't have much trouble getting downstairs - Kitty did end up phasing another alien through a wall before they got down on the street. "Lucky for us both, they seem to have made some fire just for you to use." She told him. "See if you can't take down some of those low flying ships, I'm gonna work on the civilians and then see what else I can do." She told him, still focused and moving, always moving, ready for the next thing and the next step and right now it was getting people off the street and then it would be the ships.

"Right?" John pointed right at his shades. "I can not do hero things not looking incredibly cool." Which was partially true, but really, John just really liked his new sunglasses and didn't want to lose them. "Rightio boss, lets roll."

John rushed behind her as they went down the steps. "That's very true. I'll plan our next vacation better." His sarcasm wasn't really directed at her, but more at the ridiculous situation. "Anyway. I don't think I want to ever wear that suit again." Not as it was at least. It was, to many dredged up bad memories.

While they burst out to the streets, the everything was incredibly worse on ground level. Looking around at the fires, they did well to give him all the ammunition he needed to take things out. While Kitty went off to do her thing, John watched her go, immediately worried. How could people survive this feeling when all he was, was worried for Kitty. Then his attention was taken from that as a ray gun beam went right past him. Looking over, at the alien who was equally surprised he had missed, John incinerated it immediately. Kay. Flying things. John gathered up all the flames in a good area of him pulling it all above him, and turned it into a giant hawk like shape sending it puncturing right through a ship.

"Who's next." John muttered directing the fire to wrap around and engulf the next ship.

"As if you don't look cook all the time," She teased him, because they could have a little moment of silly in the middle of all of this, it was fine and fun and yeah - maybe she'd missed this sort of thing, the adrenaline of a fight and people to save.

Kitty was pretty sure she didn't actually want to see John in his suit again either if she was being honest with herself. It was too much of the past, too much of who he'd once been. But some sort of reworking of it? Something that helped him with his powers but didn't dredge up the same memories? But that was a thought for later, when they weren't in the middle of all of this.

For now she was clearing out civilians, phasing a couple through some falling rubble before she pushed them all inside and out of the line of fire. And then she was pulling herself upward, jumping and climbing up piles of debris, fallen signs and bits of buildings and getting higher so she could do a bit more than just wave people out of the way. And when a low flying ship passed her way she took a running leap and phased herself through it, landing awkwardly inside much to the surprise of a couple of aliens who started firing rather than asking questions.

But she was already phasing herself through what appeared to be the control panel trusting that her powers would have their usual effect on the alien technology same as it did on the other tech she came into contact with. And feeling the sudden juddering lurch of the ship she was confident she'd done just that, phasing herself the rest of the way out of the ship once more and back down to Earth, landing on a roof top and phasing her way back down to the street level once more.

The way she teased back, in the moment of danger was perfect. They could take a moment to be who they were, while going off to open that grade A can of whoop ass. That was the thing they needed, right? Just a little sarcasm and ass kicking.

While Kitty was doing her work, John was doing his. The thing he wish he had about his suit though, was the fire resistance. Being in his clothes he had to be extra careful to manipulate the heat factor so he didn't fry his clothes off his own body. The fires he controlled didn't burn him, but would promptly light his clothes on fire if he wasn't careful.

The fire falcon he had been controlling came back down to him so he could use the fireball to lift him up. Something he wasn't sure exactly how it would go, but no time like the present. The talons picked his body up and guided him up to a lower building before dropping him off on the roof of a near building. There was a group of people trapped about to be cut down by a pair of aliens. As he landed, he rolled taking grasp of other nearby flames putting up a wall of fire blocking the ray gun fire. Pumping up the intensity he dropped the wall of flames onto the aliens letting them burn.

Saving the people was a good feel, one that he wasn't overly familiar with. Then he heard it from a teen among the people who saved him. 'Oh my god. That was so cool! He's so cool!!' Glancing, John raised his eyebrows some then his eyes went three stories down to Kitty. "Baby! BABY!" Did you hear that?!" His fire falcon then picked him up again bringing him down to her. Once next to Kitty while driving the giant fireball into a group of aliens in a small explosion releasing those flames from his control. Thumbing up to the roof. "That kid said I was cool. It's obviously the sunglasses." Nothing to do with his fire control abilities.

Kitty was watching the ship she'd destroyed fall out in the desert when John camw down to meet her crowing about something she maybe should have heard before he was telling her about something someone had said about him. And she couldn't help but grin at his cheek, "Well I guess it's a good thing you went back for them, huh?" She teased him.

This whole thing was a mess, the aliens the civilians who couldn't seem to quite get it in their heads that they should be inside, the damn heat. All of it. Kitty didn't like fights like this, that felt like they were just doing their best, scrambling to make it through and save as many as they could rather than having a real plan.

But it was the hand they'd been dealt so they were going to do their best with it.

And then she saw an alien behind them, raising a pistol in their direction and she didn't think as she moved, reaching for John and pushing sending the both of them toppling and hitting her head on some rubble before she'd begun to phase them both. She felt dazed, but not enough to take her sights off the creature that had tried to kill them both and once she was sure John was down she took off toward it, heedless of the throbbing pain in her head or the blood that was now rolling down the side of her face and just before she reached it she picked up the broken remains of some sort of pipe and phased it through the creature letting it unphase while she held it through the creatures head.

The way things were going, it wasn't going well for the humans. Left John not wanting to fight this battle, but he wasn't about to run off from it. Not with Kitty still here. "It was. With these shades, I'm literally the coolest!" There was a laugh while he started to examine the area looking for his next targets.

Though then he wasn't prepared for what came next. With the force of Kitty, John found himself being pushed to the ground. Stunned for the briefest of moments, he looked as he saw Kitty going to take care of the light work incoming. Starting to get to his feet. Watching the pipe get lodged into the alien's face, it only left Pyro incredibly impressed, but he saw the blood.

Rushing to her side, he grabbed her before she fell over or something. "C'mon." John said almost in a panic. Okay, this was his fault. Looking at the blood coming from her head. So much blood. Why was there so much blood? Rushing her to somewhere to take cover for a moment. "Hey. Talk to me, Kitty." Grabbing onto his shirt he started pulling on it trying to rip it. Why was it so easy to do in the movies?! This was bullshit! Grabbing the bottom of his his shirt he pressed it to the side of her head to wipe some of the blood from her. "We gotta get you out of here." He decided immediately."

Kitty hadn't even felt the impact really, too concerned with making sure that alien didn't find its mark - John was too important to allow that to happen and so she'd acted without thinking. Faster than she should have, carelessly, but she'd managed what she'd set out to do.

Of course she felt dizzy when it was all over, grateful that John had been there to catch her before she did something like stumble the way she felt she might as he held on to her. "M'okay," She told him, trying to get her feet back under her again. "I got this." Of course that proved a little bit more difficult than she'd have liked to admit and she was leaning against John after just a second of trying to keep herself up again.

"We've gotta -" She glanced around looking for the people, civilians who were still in danger. But she saw Iron Man fly by, and one of the spiders and decided that probably they could leave, she wasn't about to start fighting John on this, that'd be a good way to get them both hurt. "Come on," She nodded, "Let's get home. RALPH can help with this." She was tired after all, and the blood was trying to get in her eyes.

She'd had enough of Vegas.

She was insanely careless, and if John was a better person he'd lecture her about it later. Though he was a terrible person who made terrible decisions on the regular, so John really couldn't judge Kitty.

The way she stumbled just sealed the deal for John as he held her up. Though luckily for him she just agreed with the whole situation in the end. Even if it was because she saw other heroes doing their parts. John had seen them about too. Between the warping of that asshole Nyx and the lightning of the Norse God Thor. Things were handled here. Hands down.

"That's right." Pyro said firmly as he shifted and picked her up in his arms. "Lets go." He walked towards their exit out of Vegas. "I promise I'll get you a lollipop if you behave for the good doctor." He teased some.
