Who: Anyone who wants to come by
What: Grand-opening party!
Where: Pancho's Bar
When: Friday Night

The streamers were up (because Jan had insisted), and the bar was as ready as it ever would be. Alcohol was stored in a few make-shift shelves on the back wall and a relatively well-cobbled together bar was freshly polished and ready to go. It wasn't the most well-put-together, place, but Pancho's definitely resembled its namesake in terms of dim lighting, chipped tables and a floor that looked like it should be sticky. All in all, Carol was pretty proud of what they'd made. The minifridge was even a good choice since it allowed them to keep some drinks cold (they were going to have to find a larger one in the future, though).

She had warned Peter that the pizza oven needed to be ready by that evening, but she wasn't sure how on the ball with that he was. She'd been busy doing damage control on some electrical issues they were having with the fridge and double checking to make sure they actually had drinking cups (that took a little bit of maneuvering, but Clint came through with the coffee mugs). Yup, vodka from coffee mugs, a mini-fridge filled with a variety of stolen beers, and mismatched chairs. And, of course, the balloons. The annoying, awful squeaky balloons that had floated into a couple of corners of the room, save for the two that kept dragging on the floor and that Carol dreaded would pop at some point that evening. Definitely professional.

Karaoke was set up in one corner of the room with a make-shift stage and Christmas lights (Yes, more Christmas lights) decorating around it. Old 80s rock music blasted from the speakers for now, and Carol stood behind the bar, ready to serve as needed but more than willing to drag anyone else into the position should they so choose that evening.

Klaus | Steve the snack

It was a damn shame that Steve hadn't gotten the chance to dance much, because a guy like this? He was made for dancing, they'd only just started and Klaus could tell that much about him. He was big and wide enough without being intimidating and well Klaus might have just fallen in love with him if that was a thing he could even do - but mostly he was just enjoying the hell out of it. The teasing and the nearness of another body, who talked to him like a man and not like a failure, or one waiting to happen.

Steve for all his warnings that this wasn't his scene, that he didn't dance, he picked it up relatively quickly, tugged Klaus even closer and said something unbearably wonderful to him. Yeah Klaus loved him, he decided this was love, like not Dave love but he absolutely loved this corn chip.

"You're going to have to tell me how this is like fighting now," He told Steve with as much seriousness as he could manage all while enjoying the hell out of this, the firm and very solid line of Steve as they moved together and the way he touched him, "Because you can't say something like that and not tell me more."

Steve was too coordinated to be a bad dancer, but he lacked experience and he also wasn't versed at relaxing into things, especially physical contact. He glanced up, relieved to see no one was staring at them and he reminded himself where they were, when they were and looked back down into his dark rimmed eyes. Even if Klaus was smiling, Steve recognised that echo of loss there and maybe it was sick but that drew him in more. Providing comfort, a place to rest, well Steve had always been good at that.

"Knowing where to put your feet, reading the other person's movements," Steve explained as his arm came up so his hand rested between Klaus' shoulders and he could dip him down, until the back of his head nearly touched the floor. It was a silly show of strength, but hey, he could show off a little now and then couldn't he.

"Keep you on your toes, sometimes we fight for fun too," Steve said with a smile.

Maybe Steve had a point about similarities to dancing, but Klaus might just have agreed with anything that Steve said when he was suddenly dipped back and nearly touched the floor. He was completely delighted by it, leaning into it easily and trusting Steve to not drop him - because there was one thing he was sure of, those muscles were not just for show.

"Do you?" He asked, that was something Klaus didn't do - well maybe he did, but not in the way that Steve meant, not the kind of fighting where you needed to be aware of your feet. "That does seem more your style." He agreed though, because he could see how that'd be a more comfortable fit for Steve, let him get in close without worrying what anyone might think - and well, Steve carried himself like a man who was too aware that there could be eyes on him.

"I've got a feeling you're always on your toes though," He added, as Steve pulled him back up again, "You oughta see about relaxing from time to time." He told him, sure Klaus made a life out of taking it easy but that was him, and Steve was Steve, but even good soldiers needed some down time. Dave knew that much.

"You stick with me and I'll get you to relax sometime." Klaus promised, but even now Steve felt more at ease as they danced, like he was enjoying himself just a tiny bit, and it was almost enough for Klaus to pretend like he was exactly where he wanted to be.
