Who: Anyone who wants to come by
What: Grand-opening party!
Where: Pancho's Bar
When: Friday Night

The streamers were up (because Jan had insisted), and the bar was as ready as it ever would be. Alcohol was stored in a few make-shift shelves on the back wall and a relatively well-cobbled together bar was freshly polished and ready to go. It wasn't the most well-put-together, place, but Pancho's definitely resembled its namesake in terms of dim lighting, chipped tables and a floor that looked like it should be sticky. All in all, Carol was pretty proud of what they'd made. The minifridge was even a good choice since it allowed them to keep some drinks cold (they were going to have to find a larger one in the future, though).

She had warned Peter that the pizza oven needed to be ready by that evening, but she wasn't sure how on the ball with that he was. She'd been busy doing damage control on some electrical issues they were having with the fridge and double checking to make sure they actually had drinking cups (that took a little bit of maneuvering, but Clint came through with the coffee mugs). Yup, vodka from coffee mugs, a mini-fridge filled with a variety of stolen beers, and mismatched chairs. And, of course, the balloons. The annoying, awful squeaky balloons that had floated into a couple of corners of the room, save for the two that kept dragging on the floor and that Carol dreaded would pop at some point that evening. Definitely professional.

Karaoke was set up in one corner of the room with a make-shift stage and Christmas lights (Yes, more Christmas lights) decorating around it. Old 80s rock music blasted from the speakers for now, and Carol stood behind the bar, ready to serve as needed but more than willing to drag anyone else into the position should they so choose that evening.

Miles had no idea what was going on. One second he's walking home from a typical day of school, then he turns a corner and....he's just not here anymore. It wasn't New York. It wasn't even daytime! Panic struck almost immediately, his spider-senses going off telling him that something was NOT right. He was in a small town and there was no sign of anyone around him. He quickly dug out his cell phone to call his father, but there was no service. All the while, Miles kept walking and looking and walking- until finally, he found a place with lights and people!

And Miles did what he almost always did. He approached the situation rationally and calmly and he definitely was not over-reacting.

Okay, that wasn't true. He burst through the doors and looked around at the various people in the bar, his eyes wide and then going still and quiet. He had planned on asking for help, but then he froze. It didn't seem like a good idea to yell what the hell is going on right away, especially since it would probably just get him kicked out of the bar. And the fact that he was a minor probably wouldn't help if he wanted to stay.

Then, he saw him. No way. Nooooo way. Miles' mind was blank for a moment, staring directly at Peter B. Parker across the way talking to- wait, was that Gwen Stacy!? Okay, at least he knew faces! Miles concentrated hard and used his camouflage ability to blend in, quickly ducked and excused himself through the crowd, trying not to be noticed (especially by Gwen). He waited for the right moment for Gwen to stop talking to Peter and then sidled over trying to act not-so-obvious.

"Pssssst", he whispered, sitting at the bar and on hyper alert. Unfortunately for Peter, he was still cloaked. "Peter. It's me! Miles!"

It had been a good night so far, everyone seemed to be having a good time, no one was getting out of hand and well - it was pretty obvious that they'd needed something like this. A place to let out some steam and just relax for a little while and breathe and you know have some kind of fun. Peter wasn't sure it was the kind of fun that any of them might have chosen if they were back home again, but all things considered, this was a kind of fun that they got here and that was worth something.

He hadn't given Gwen too much to drink but she was well on her way when they went their own separate ways, and Peter was checking to make sure everything was okay behind the bar, cleaning up just a little because that was going to be the part of all of this that could ruin them, who wanted to clean? Certainly not Peter, but he wanted to be able to keep this going so necessary evils and all that.

Peter perked up a little when he thought he heard someone try and catch his attention, but there wasn't anyone at the bar, certainly no one sitting there waiting to be acknowledged and he continued working until he heard it again and not just a quiet whisper for attention, but his name and then...

"Miles?" He had to be imagining that, Miles couldn't be here, that was crazy, Miles was back home he was living his life he was Spider-Man he wasn't stuck here with them. "No, no, no, no, no no no no no, Miles you can't be here."

Peter seemed oblivious for the first few seconds, and then the poor guy seemed panicked. That wasn't helping. Miles un-camouflaged himself, sitting on the bar with his hood pulled up over his head and shaking his head and looking wide-eyed and scared. "Well, I am here. I didn't know where else to go around here! Where are we, anyway??" He looked around again, not recognizing anyone except for Pete and Gwen. Though there was something about this place that was....odd. His senses were very tingly.

"This isn't New York, is it?" Miles looked back at Parker. "Since when were you a bartender?" He frowned, confused by the entire situation. "And is Gwen even old enough to drink?? No, she's not. She's like, ,my age, man!"

"Miles?!" Peter only just managed not to shout, at least they had enough music to kind of cover his shock when Miles revealed himself sitting there at the bar. "What are you doing here?" He hissed lowly shaking his head at the very idea that Miles was here even when presented with the very real proof that he was since here in front of him was Miles. "You can't be here, What are you doing?"

Okay yeah Peter knew that wasn't how this worked, you didn't just get to choose to come here and by the looks of it Miles was just as confused as he was about it all, but he still needed an answer as to how his tiny little spider protege had ended up here in this place.

"No, no this isn't New York." He agreed reaching out and putting his hands on Miles' shoulders just to further prove to himself that Miles was real and here and this wasn't just some fever dream induced by pizza fumes and alcohol from another dimension. "When did you get here? What happened, tell me everything."

"I don't know!!! What's what I'm trying to figure out- and what are you doing here? I have no idea what's going on!" He looked ready to hyperventilate, but he thought he was keeping it cool all things considered. Just when the universes can't get any weirder, this happens.

"Is this what happened to you? You just walked around a corner and were in another reality??" He sort of hoped it was. Except that this was supposed to have been fixed. Would he disappear if he stayed too long? Was he going to glitch out. Oh man, he didn't want to glitch out!

He calmed a little bit when Peter put a hand on his shoulder, taking slower breaths and explaining. "I was walking home from school and it was daylight and I went into an ally and BAM- I'm here. Well, not here. I was on some weird street outside. It was very, very dark. Does this place not have streetlights or something?? Anyway, I walked around until I found this place- what is this place? And how is Gwen here?"

No this was definitely not what happened to him, not when he'd ended up in Miles' universe. Oh god this was not what he wanted, sure you know it was kind of a novelty to end up in a place like this with a bunch of other spider people, but that lasted all of five seconds before reality set in. And Miles was just a kid, he had a family back home - shit, shit, shit.

"Uh we're still working on the power system," He admitted when Miles mentioned how dark it was, he'd have to talk to Tony about that next and see what they needed to get some lights hooked into the power grid so if this happened again, someone showing up at night they wouldn't be out in the literal dark.

"Okay, okay. So first things first, you're in a different dimension, but it's different than when I was in your universe." He said to reassure because glitching out was not fun and it seemed that none of them were doing that, so you know - that was a win, even if it was a small thing. "Gwen isn't the Gwen we met, she's another version of her." Gwen would be able to tell Miles more when he was ready for that, but for now he could handle the basics, or most of them at least.

"When I went through the particle accelerator, back to my world? I ended up here." He still didn't know if it had something to do with the portal he'd jumped into but considering he was the only one of the spider-gang to end up here it was probably something else. "We're - well kid, there's no easy way to say this, we're stuck here. We haven't figured out how we got here yet, or how we're getting back."

A different dimension. Right. Yes. That made sense. Except it did not. And this Gwen wasn't their Gwen. What was Peter even talking about?! "Another version of Gwen." He repeated. Okay. Like there were two Peter Parkers. That wasn't too hard to accept. That didn't change the fact he was in another dimension, though.

"Wait- so this is like...purgatory? Are all of these people Spider-people??" He leaned close and hissed his question to Peter, half-expecting that to be the case.

Keep it cool, Morales. No good panicking. You can panic later. Right now, just stay cool.

"How long have you been here? And you still haven't explained why you're a bartender!"

"What? Purgatory? No, come on man keep up." Peter pulled a face and shook his head at the very idea,
"It's just a different dimension." He tried to explain, "This one though, it was like it was empty before we showed up here so we're not going to just you know, blitz out."

"No, no, no they're not Spider-people. There's Gwen, and there's me and there's another kid, he's a Peter too." Not that they saw him around much, but he was out there, hopefully keeping his head down and not getting into too much trouble.

"They're... Avengers, do you have the Avengers?" He frowned, he didn't think Miles' had the Avengers, they probably would have gotten involved with the Fisk thing if they were there, so maybe that wasn't the best thing to call them, "They're heros, just not Spider-people heros. You don't have to worry about them."

He had to do a mental count when Miles asked how long he'd been here, "It's been.... almost three months." Shit that was way too long, no wonder they needed the bar so much. "I went through the portal and wound up here, and we've just kind of been stuck ever since, people keep showing up." Like Miles. "Ignore the bartender thing, I just started, it's not important. Are you okay?"

"You keep up because you're talking crazy!" Miles retaliated. No, it didn't make any sense what he was saying....but neither did any of this. "Huh? Okay..." The relaxed just a little at the idea that they weren't going to just disappear, even if he was having trouble understanding exactly what Peter was talking about.

Another Peter Parker?? Seriously? Miles frowned and slumped again at the notion, already scanning for him. Wait, did he say Avengers?? Miles perked up. "Um...yeah, they do! But they're like, a big deal- wait, they're here?!" Now he was really looking. Except that he didn't immediately recognize any Avengers. Then again, they usually wore masks and stuff and only Tony Stark and Captain America- wait! He thought he spotted Stark across the bar. Except he didn't look exactly like him, just kinda like him? And he was drunk. Very drunk.

"Three months?" That didn't make sense. "But I just saw you a couple weeks ago..." Miles was so confused. "I'm fine. Sorta. I mean, as fine as you can be with this happening." He sighed, putting his head down on the bar. "So....what you're saying is you haven't figured out how to get home?"

Peter rolled his eyes when Miles accused him of talking crazy, but yeah he got it - it was a lot to take in, so it wasn't like he could blame Miles for that either, and you know he was still adjusting to the whole Spider-Man thing and now they were throwing this on top of it all? Yeah it was a lot.

"Oh," Okay well that helped to make things a little bit easier to understand if Miles knew the Avengers too, "Well good yeah, they're here - some of them at least, not all of them." He glanced over his shoulder at the others and then pointed, "Like right there is Mr. Stark he's Iron Man, and over there is Clint, he's Hawkeye, and Steve is here somewhere," They could get to actual introductions later, but it was just important than Miles kind of understand that they were mostly safe for the time being then they could start dealing with the reality of him being stuck here.

"Time is kind of relative here, I think." And he could only hope it stayed that way when they managed to get home, that he wasn't some kind of old man going back to MJ who was still expecting him to be a younger man. "Ah yeah, we're still working on the getting home thing." Peter agreed with a sigh, laying a hand on Mile's shoulder again when he put his head down obviously looking somewhere between worried and defeated about it all. "But you know we've got two Tony Stark's here so I bet they'll figure it out soon."

Miles just stared at everyone and everything. He loved the Avengers (what kid didn't?), though they were more legends than reality for him. Always handling the big crisis- though they probably should have been at the whole inter-dimensional world ending thing, huh?

"Wow." Miles shook his head, still taking it all in. "Two Tony Starks?" Miles nodded, but then frowned. "You don't look like you think they will..." Miles felt that panic rising again.

"Look, my mom and dad are gonna kill me if I've just disappeared for days and suddenly show up with no explanation- how long do you think this is going to take?"

"Yeah, and a partridge in a pear tree." Peter said waving away the whole to Tony thing, it wasn't that important, there where two of him too, it was all really confusing was what he was trying to say. "I mean if anyone stands a shot it's them?" He tried hopefully, because well it had been almost three months and they hadn't figured it out but you know Peter wasn't ready to give up hope totally yet, he was just very aware that time was passing and they were still here.

"I know," Peter said with a sigh, "I know they're gonna worry, that's what parents do." Of course they did, how could they not? But he didn't have a good answer for Miles when it came to how long it'd take.

"I don't - I don't know, man. We're trying, but I don't think there's even really been a good answer for why we got pulled here in the first place let alone a time line to get us home." It had been a lot simpler with Fisk, they knew what had caused it and they had a fairly simple way to reverse it and get everyone back where they belonged, but this - there was no accelerator, no big bad to fight, no goober that was going to make it all right. They were stuck.

"I'm sorry, Miles." This was the last thing he wanted for Miles.

Miles just stared at the bar as it sunk in. This sucked. He sighed, quiet for an unusually long time. This wasn't even like the whole Fisk thing. He had choices then. What choice did he have now?

Nothing. Because either way, here is where he was.

"...I guess it could be worse..." He started slowly, then smiled a little. "At least there's a Gwen?" Yup, he was teasing. Sort of. He looked at Per and nodded.

"We did it before. We can do it again. Right?" He held out a fist for Peter to bump and then nodded. "Sooooo can I get a drink?"

Yeah, Miles was definitely working it out. Peter just let him do it too, didn't try and offer any more condolences because well what else could he say? And let him be the one to speak first.

Peter huffed and nodded, "Yeah, there's a Gwen," He agreed with a smile, "She's great, you'll like her." He promised, because of course Miles would, Gwen was great and well they were spider-people, they'd be fine.

"Yeah," Peter agreed lifting his own hand up for that first bump, "We're gonna figure it out."

"I'll get you a coke," Gwen might have gotten permission, but well Miles was - well he was Miles and Peter wasn't going to be the one to give him his first drink.

"A rum and Coke??" Miles was trying. He smiled a little too eagerly, hoping it might work. Knowing it probably wouldn't.

"I could've sworn I saw Gwen with a real drink, and she's not that much older than me- wait, is she that much older than me? This Gwen, I mean." Miles looked around for her, no longer as worried. At least this Gwen hadn't lost half of her hair when he couldn't stop sticking to stuff.

In reality, Miles was still in shock. He was trying his best to just let it all settle in. He didn't even know where he was sleeping tonight, but he'd figure that out later. He hoped. Maybe on the bar? Peter had a place, right?

"Nice try," Peter huffed shaking his head and sliding Miles a glass of coke rather than the alcohol he'd been trying for.

Peter raised an eyebrow when he mentioned Gwen having a real drink, "You'll have to ask her what she's been drinking." He said evasively and then paused considering how old she was, "I don't think she's older than the other Gwen. But I think that means she's still older than you my friend."

It was a lot to take in, Peter knew and Miles wasn't going to be fine just because he looked okay right now, but they'd figure it out right?

"Look we're gonna get you taken care of, there'll be a phone for you somewhere around here, and if you want your own place you can have it, but I've got space too." He added, because of course he'd make room for Miles if he wanted it. "It's your choice, but this is going to be okay."

Miles made a face, but sighed and sipped the coke. It was better than nothing, after all. And at the mention that this Gwen was even older, Miles felt a little awkward but nodded. "But I'm not like the youngest here...am I?" He really hoped that wasn't the case. That would be weird. Weirder. Things were weird enough already!

"My own place??" He didn't even think about that, but...yeah. Yeah! That might not be so bad. No roommate, and no mom to tell him to go to bed. "And what kinda phone? I have a phone- it just doesn't work."

Miles looked around the bar again. Most of the furniture looked cobbled together and he was almost afraid to ask any more questions. He was tired. Taking another drink of soda, Miles dared to ask. "Maybe I can stay with you? Just the first night or two. Would that be cool?"

"Ummm...." Peter actually wasn't sure about that, because that other Peter Parker, he was pretty young too, those spiders like to start out young after all. "We'll have to find the other Peter and ask him how old he is to be sure, but.... you might be."

The thought of his own place didn't seem to be a terrible one for Miles, so that was something. "I mean if you want it, you don't have to live on your own." Peter might not be a great roommate but no way was he leaving Miles out on his own if he didn't want that. "It's a new phone, everyone gets one when they arrive, it'll let you connect to the local net, so you can get a hold of people, things like that."

There was the issues of the doors too but Peter had already dropped a lot on Miles he wasn't sure he wanted to throw that at him yet too.

"Yeah of course you can, I've got space you can stay as long as you want." He assured him. It was all a little crazy, but you know he knew Miles, so you know if he could offer even a tiny bit of normalcy to him he was gonna do his best to give him that.

MIles didn't look like he liked the sound of that. Far from it. He looked sort of miserable at the idea, groaning at the thought that he was the kid. Again. It wasn't that it was bad being young, but he didn't want people to keep treating him like a baby when he felt capable of handling things himself. Er, for the most part.

"So we can talk to each other, but no one outside of here? Does it get internet??" He hoped that was possible. Oh man, how was he supposed to be without the internet??

"Just for a night or two!" Miles pointed out. Especially tonight, since he literally had no idea where to go. "This is just crazy." He shook his head. Maybe it was a bad dream and he would wake up. Yeah. That was it. HE took a sip of coke and muttered. "I'm gonna wake up and it'll be fine. Back to being a normal, everyday neighborhood boy who was bitten by a radioactive spider and saves the city."

"Don't worry, they know Spider-Man can take care of himself," Peter assured Miles when he groaned at the realization that he might just be the youngest person there with them in Starklandia, but it was true. Enough of the people here knew Spider-Man, so he'd be okay.

Peter shook his head with a sigh, "Nope, it's a closet network by the looks of it, just enough to let us talk to one another but nothing beyond that." It was kind of awful, but maybe it was just because Peter was getting older he didn't hate not being able to get online as much as he thought he might, "I'll show you around tomorrow, when it's light out," He promised.

"Yeah it is," Peter agreed, completely crazy, he didn't try and correct Miles when he suggested that maybe all of this was just a bad dream, maybe it was for Miles, in any case he wasn't going to drop that particular reality bomb on him just yet, he'd wake up here tomorrow and see for himself. Until then though Peter was going to make sure he was as okay as he could be.

"How do you feel about Karaoke?" He asked, just because it was a dream didn't mean they couldn't sing after all.

This didn't sound great. Miles was frowning as he heard there wasn't even any internet. He was frustrated and tired and he hadn't even had dinner! He was moping, looking very much like the 16-year-old boy that he was when Peter suggested karaoke.

Miles just looked at his mentor with a you're kidding me sort of face. "Karaoke?" Seriously? That's when he caught a whiff of it. "Wait...is that pizza??"

It smelled like pizza. And Miles then caught sight of someone eating a slice nearby and his stomach grumbled.

Peter pressed a hand to his chest in mock outrage at the look Miles gave him for his suggestion of karaoke, "You're gonna sing with me," He warned him, maybe not tonight, but it was going to happen, Peter had decided. He and Gwen had gotten a song in together and now he and Miles would too, at some point.

But first there was pizza and yeah maybe he should have offered some of that too with the coke.

"Yeah, lemme get you some," Peter grabbed a couple of slices for Miles and slid them in his direction, "I made it myself," He said feeling very proud of his accomplishment, it hadn't been easy getting everything together for pizza but well, some things were worth the trouble.

"Uh...no. I don't sing in public." He really didn't. He was more self-conscious than that. And he had just gotten here. No WAY was he going to let Iron Man see him look like an idiot. Even if the poor guy looked pretty wasted.

Okay, food was good. And Miles was happy to have something to eat, actually taking a bit. Then another. Okay, he was hungrier than he realized. "You made this??" He looked surprised as he ate but shrugged.

"Okay...so you make pizza and you run a bar- which you still haven't explained." He was staring at the blond woman behind the bar who was chatting with another woman and seemed to be ignoring everyone else for the time being.

"That's not Mary Jane, is it?" She didn't look like the Mary Jane from his universe, but then again this Peter didn't look like his Peter Parker.

"Are you kidding, I've heard you sing, you just do that thing again it'll be great." Peter reminded Miles, "Maybe not tonight, but soon, we're doing karaoke."

Okay yeah, Peter was very proud of the pizza thing, maybe Carol was right, maybe this was some sort of long term plan where he gradually shifted from saving the city to making pizzas, that wasn't insane was it? "It's a long story, but you know there's not anything here-" He waved a hand around to hopefully mean the whole town, "And I wanted some pizza so why not figure out how to make it, you know? And the bar - that just kind of happened by accident," you went out and got drunk once and suddenly you were running your own bar, that's how things worked sometimes.

"Mary Jane?" He asked frowning and then followed Miles' gaze down the bar top to where Carol was talking with someone and then shook his head, "Oh! No, no no no, that is Carol, she had the idea for the bar in the first place, I just helped her pull it off. She's great though, you'll like her."

"That was different. WAY different. There are real life , Avengers, here!" As if that mattered, but it did to Miles, anyway.

"So...you built a pizza oven and a bar by accident?" That sounded shady. Really shady. Miles knew Shady. He shook his head, looking suspicious as he ate his pizza slowly. "I'm gonna find out the real story, you know that, right?"

Again, Miles was just following along as Peter explained who Carol was. "The accidental bar. Got it." He wasn't going to ask any more questions, but he was going to definitely give Peter that I know better than to believe that look.
